I wanted to restart the game, with a new game on the occasion of this big update, and I also have the game freezing, crashing, etc..
I'll wait for an update to fix these problems.

Please post your complete specs.

Easiest and best way is to show us what Steam sees.

The steps are as follows (very simple):

Go up top here in Steam and find "Help"
Next choose "System information"
Give it a second or 2 to populate
Then simply copy & paste the info here in this thread, all of it.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

If we could stop taking people for idiots and admit that this version is unstable for some people, it would be nicer.
As far as I'm concerned, I don't have any mods and everything's fine on my PC, so it's clear that this is due to the update and nothing else. As for me, as I said above, I'll wait for an update that fixes this problem.

No one say people are idiots but as example I can’t reproduce it because my game doesn’t crash if I start a new game, and for my works fine as always. There are different parameter here and one can be the hardware, then you have some security software which maybe interfere or a driver causes some issue.

I'm delighted to hear that things are going well on your side, so I can go to sleep with a clear conscience.

You still not gave some information. Maybe it crashes for only AMD user, but if all just write *It’s the game fault* and over the half have no issue because they don’t use AMD then you see the problem? How should people help them if they don’t give any information. So as I read here it seems that the people here use AMD which have problems, so you have too AMD?

I'm not looking for help, thanks anyway. I was only pointing out the fact that this is my case too, then if the game crashes, it's out of my hands. I've got other games on the side, so I can wait.

I tested the beta and have updated it to the new release - both have the same problem of starting then failing to load. I do have mods but with prior updates I was still able to launch directly from the original install folder. (I have Steam installed on a 4 TB hard drive - Drive C is an NVME drive and the installer happily installed on the hard drive. The game would load and run fine directly from the hard drive only slowing down after several hours of playtime.) I copied the entire installation to the NVME drive C in the same path as the game installed on D: drive. I could create a pointer record to make the system think the folder on the C: drive is actually on the D: drive but using WinMerge to update from D: to C: has been working fine with previous updates. The fully modded version on drive C: can not run until SFSE and a few more mods are updated - but I still should be able to run the game un-modded by launching via the Starfield.exe - the same as I could launch the game via the original exe file from the folder on D: drive with previous updates. (And no, I have not updated the files on C: drive at this time to the new version.) Not sure exactly why this is not loading but I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that most if not all of the mesh files were renamed in this version - something which broke some mods. I have run the file validation multiple times to discover that I had no corrupt files and the problem persists.

How exactly can a version be unstable for "SOME" people... Think about that statement.

The software does not change based on who downloads it. So it has to be something local to the individual causing the issue. It can be a number of things including other background software not connected to the game at all, like anti-virus.

Me to: fresh install without mods and all Drivers updated. Intel i5-12600KF, RTX 3060, 32 GB Ram, Windows 10. My whole PC freezes, so i have to reset. The previous Beta worked fine!
