Tracker's Alliance Elite Mission - Alive
Mission: Target Alive
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3265810557
So equip your trusty EM weapon and down the target, mission pays out... kind of Ez-Pz. My melee only character lucked you with a rare Extended mag

Having said all that, am I the only one that goes that one step further and eliminates the target after the mission completes?

I thought about it, but resisted that temptation, but next time I will hehe

Is "traker's alive" a reward gun in TA?

No - being a hoarder usually pays off in BGS games ;)

So wait a minute.....there's actual "Capture Alive" bounties? Do you have to take them somewhere? keep them in a prison of your ship? Or is it just "Blast them with generic non-lethal weapon and missions complete" kind of situation?

No sadly because that would be "efing" awesome!

You just have to down them with an EM weapon and then the mission immediately completes.

I just stopped into HQ and asked "No. 1" about "alive", pretty cool dialogue.

Of course you don't have to take them anywhere, this is Bethesda level writing - it'd be too much to ask from mainstream console gamers to do that so they've dumbed the feature down.

The first two times I did these missions they completed once I stunned them...the last three the stun bar does not go all the way over but they go down and start to recover...I have pumped 50 shots into and it sill wont finish. The first time this happened to me I used the freeze starborn ability on the target...after that....none will complete.

Sounds like those didn't have the 'alive' option. Not all of them do I believe.

Correct - from my experience there are always three missions:
1: Kill target
2: Target: Alive
3: Destroy ship

Makes me curious if on a 'Destroy Ship' mission if you can still board and loot, and then destroy maybe later.

While I have NOT tested it on these TA "elite" missions, but on all other missions, if you board AND claim the ship you were meant to destroy, the mission completed just fine... I would presume it's the same.

I rarely if ever board then leave and destroy so I have no exp with that mode, sorry :(

It did have the Alive option. I have gone back and tried a few things. If I leave the "Mark" for last...it seems to put them down..if they still have allies alive anywhere in the compound they ether get back up or just lay there with mission unfinished.

@Calarax - I know it is completely unhelpful but I want to say I have completed the Alive mission several times, esp at the Cryo Lab (know it like the back of my hand... wait, where'd that spot come from?....) and leave plenty of other enemies nearby.... but... my target IS in a room all by themselves... ah... grain of salt and all that...

Update: sadly the bug with the transplanted (opposing faction) target CAN (and DID) happen. (1)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3267517061

I was just able to down the target but they were quite low on health from all the CF pirates shooting at them
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3267517201

This is certainly not a problem if your mission is KILL but if it's ALIVE and they, the target, dies, it's mission fail :(

(1) Has been happening for months. Example: You take a kill mission and get to your targets location and say the facility/area is full of Spacers. Once you can ID your target they are sometimes NOT a Spacer but a Va'ruun or Pirate or Ecliptic. When this happens either the target is killed (or downed) by the enemies surrounding them or the target has killed the enemies around them.

I think the opposing faction will just down the target. In this case you have to take out all the opposing enemies, then pop the target with an EM weapon and should be good.
