Starborn Gravis Suit
Okay, how can this thing be achievement friendly? This is the most cheating, OP, over-the-top, powerful suit you can possibly make. You are practically invincible with this suit on, particularly at low level. I get that it's a BGS creation, but come on. If this is achievement friendly you may as well not have anything block achievements.

Achievement friendly means the mod doesn't disable achievements. But thanks for this description because now i want this suit :steamhappy:

I know what it means, but if you are cheating your way through the game by wearing this suit why bother disabling achievements at all?

Some folks complained that the rewards for becoming Starborn weren't good enough to justify going through the Unity. My guess is this is an attempt at addressing that. I haven't used the suit yet (I'm waiting to play SF again after Shattered Space comes out), but based on what you just said about it, it sounds like a good reward, but I can also see why you believe it's overpowered.

If wearing the suit is fun for me in this single player game, its not cheating. Its weird how you are trying to associate wearing an OP suit to achievements. Are they really that important to you?

The achievement disabling thing has never made any sense to begin with, you can just put everything on very easy and save scum a bit to complete 100% achievements in a record time if you want

Steam achievements are an extra-game feature that has no meaning whatsoever

Sounds like getting the Mark I suit before they patched the exploit :fhappy:

I think the suit is intended to be used after your first ng+ like any starborn suit but it seems that its available on a lvl 1 playthrough too

I suppose I was under the impression that achievements needed to be earned, and that disabling them when mods or console commands are used, was done to keep someone from 'cheating' to get them. 'Cheating' in reference here to the achievement system, not against another player.

Personally I've never checked achievements and couldn't tell you what I have or not have now, but once I saw what this suit had in stats, and then noted it was achievement friendly, I figured I must but misunderstanding what the whole achievement rewards was for.

So don't put it on until you're about to enter unity.

Any console command disables achievement, even if you just fix a quest that glitched and stopped progressing so no theres no particular logic as to why achievements are disabled.

I get your perspective now. But its not in sync with what the mod authors mean by "achievement friendly". Mods in general will always disable achievements, but the mod authors want the buyer to know their mod doesn't disable achievements.

You're saying, "this MOD makes the game so easy, the achievements become obsolete", correct?

Yeah something like that. The whole idea that achievements are something you 'earn' gets thrown out the window when mods like that are available.

Its thrown out the window with easy difficulty and save scumming, achievement enabler mods or even achievement completion mods (just install mod and get 100% - exists for most games)

Single player games achievements mean absolutely nothing.
