Scummy "free sample" tactics
So, the Tracker's Alliance update includes one mission for free:

"The first mission, The Starjacker will have you in contact with a mysterious Tracker located in settlements throughout the Settled Systems. From there, let the hunts begin!"

Then, we need to buy the next part:

"The second Trackers Alliance mission, The Vulture is available within the new Creations menu [for 700 Credits]. And what bounty hunter is without their trusted methods to get the job done?"

It seems Bethesda has resorted to the old "free sample" tactic to sell paid mods. I guess we can look forward to more of the game being sold piece-by-piece? (Even though, the Tracker's Alliance should have been in the game from the start!)

I actually enjoyed the game at launch, despite its numerous flaws and the game being a glorified "early access" title. (The game was, and still is, clearly not finished.) I had hoped Bethesda would try to earn back some good will and finish the game with free updates. But, I see now I was foolishly hopeful. It's now clear that Bethesda is happy using its loyal fans as paying QA testers and intends to sell the rest of the game in pieces.

Do not buy any of this "Creations" garbage, and do not buy anymore Bethesda (or Microsoft) titles until they demonstrate they value and respect their customers.

You’re not the boss of me.

Even as a fan of the game, I find this disappointing.

I mean isn't it essentially DLC? I'm not sure what the problem is here. The free sample maybe gives you a "sample" wof what to expect? Buy it or don't

This game needs its resurgence to match Fallout & Skyrim’s playerbases because this game is still recent, and paywalled stuff won’t do it imo

Wallet watching and telling people what they should or should not spend their money on is not a smart way to get people on your side.

Neither is promising "free" updates then locking them behind a pay wall. $10 dollars for single mission. GTFO. Imagine No Mans Sky tried this crap, nobody would even remember the name now

So don't buy Creations. The mod tools are out now, so be patient and see what's made available.
Skyrim wasn't what Skyrim is now, not for many years of modding efforts.

I get if you don't like or agree with the tactics on display here,
but what the hell do you people expect? Don't go anywhere near anything AAA then.

But a lot of this just reads like people who won't be happy no matter damn what.

The update IS free. The Vultures creation isn't free. Don't tell others how to spend their money.

The update is there for the framework to nickel and dime you with some fixes that I am not applauding for fixing. Bethesda owes modders for Skyrims longevity and sales numbers. Starfield is fantastic with mods made without the Creation Kit already. So, as we get near to DLC time, they introduce paid-for missions that should have been in the game?

Asking people not to pay for these is not telling you how to spend your money. It is more like asking those who can afford to not pay to do so, and thus, rewarding this behavior from a developer. A fool and their money are easily parted, as the saying goes, and in this case, you are filling Todd Howards' pockets as he oversells, underperforms, and takes advantage of his customers.

Or, this framework is there and will be supported.
But the Creation Kit is also there and there will be mods available on the Nexus or Moddb, just like always.

Back away from the piece of it you seem to have a critical issue with and ask yourself if the framework of a expansively moddable open world rpg is worth dealing with the company that provides it.

If you aren't, find an alternative.

I can deal with this if I can still mod as I please. Haven't seen a crippling threat to that as of yet.

Except that the op isn't asking. Quote "Do not buy any of this "Creations" garbage, and do not buy anymore Bethesda (or Microsoft) titles until they demonstrate they value and respect their customers." End quote. That's straight from the op's post, last paragraph.
I see the #entitledgamers are back complaining about everything again

For the two days the mod works because like Fallout 4 the stupid CC updates will continuously disable mods from the game version updates.
