Earth Colony Ship Constant

So does anyone know where the Constant ends up if you give the ship a grav drive? This quest bugged on me. I was going back and forth to the ship doing the letter delivery quest for one of the crew, when the quest marker shows it back at Porrima II ... but it's not there.

I'm curious, if not bugged, where the ship would have ended up and where they would have colonized.

Yeah sadly this one is bugged since day 1, while moraly questionable the indentured servitude option is the best choice as this wil allow you to stay in contact with those ECS people

The ECS Constant becomes a random encounter in space after you repair their engines. You should be still able to give them letters or help that lady get off the ship for a sack of potatoes

Should be able yes but it is BUGGED!!! ECS disapears after getting their engines while their questmarker tells you its up in Paradiso's orbit

Thats more dumb luck then anything else, there's a bunch of issues a lot are experiencing but some do not. The some being the exeption here ofcourse as most experience issues

Yeah, not in mine either. After doing that mission, I find the ship located in different star systems now. I'm assuming it's looking for a new planet. kInd of cool, but also kind of sad. I wish this quest had a bit more final resolution, like they finally pick a planet after a while and setup a small colony that you can visit. Maybe even have some more quests from there to help them get going with their new life. That would be cool.

I had it as a random encounter for a while. During that time I was going back and forth to it to deliver letters. After the second letter delivered the ship was gone and the quest marker just pointed to Porrima II, and the ship isn't there.

So where do they end up? Where do they settle? There's only a finite number of systems in the game.

That's the 6 million dollar question. The story line on this quest is 'disappointing' to put it mildly. I would like to see the option of finding a planet for them and helping them start their settlement, at the very least. It's just a bad story line as it stands right now.

BGS hasn't explained whether it is a bug or intentional if they should become a random encounter. Classic... BGS... is it a bug, or a feature?

It did not work for me on the first play through, but gig in a later NG+. That time I made sure to go and talk to everyone I could on the ship before I left. I went off in search of potatoes and when I had them returned to Paridiso but not ECS Constant. Later it turned up in orbit of Akila. I was able to trade the potatoes. Not sure what happened to it after that. But the gal was in New Atlantis next time I landed at the port.
