Did you start a new game -after- you removed said mods? Once they're in the game, they're there permanently. "removing" them won't remove the data they added to the save; it just can't do that.

If it does it on a new game, There's files left somewhere that you haven't deleted yet.

I did a clean restart with no mods.. nothing, just after a reinstall it still does it..
How would i go about finding those files ?

There are probably still leftover files from your previous modded installation.... There is a procedure around here for a 'clean install', which is what I would recommend.

I think you're referring to this..

As for protecting your game from updates you can use Method 2 in this guide:
(or method 1, or both)

Have you ever translated a mod yourself? In any case, lookup errors are often errors in the strings directory
\Starfield\Data\strings\*.strings
Check if there are files in there that belong to a mod that has already been updated but the associated strings are outdated.
Delete them, done.

I don't have a strings folder, and I tried loading an unmodded save.. Went from "LOOKUP FAILED" to just being blank spaces
Then there is an old mod somewhere that is no longer compatible with the current game version, as it overwrites important parts of the game. You either have to correct this yourself or remove the mod, which may not be a good idea. It depends on the mod. Some can be uninstalled in the middle of the game, some cannot. If in doubt, go through Unity and start over....

Lookup failed, however, refers to a description of a game content, e.g. a resource or a weapon or ammunition. or or or. .. what about an outdated Community Patch? maybe it's that?

I disabled all mods and everything was back to normal, deleted a bad file I found with Xtranslator and now mods that should not depend on it won't activate.
Might just be a mod with a bad file mabye?

Edit: It was apparently a main file, so back to debugging I guess

Edit 2: If anyone else get this issue and the have installed TN's Mining, disable it as it overruns the perk system.

xTranslator brings me back to the originally mentioned .strings files :)
But of course it is also possible that a file in a mod is defective or simply too old.

If the problematic mod has not yet been found, then I would first look into the mod files (use ba2-extractor/explorer) or deactivate one mod after the other and start the game each time.

uh, in the ba2 files you are primarily looking for "strings"

Fixed it by disabeling the TN's Mining mod, it interferes with the skills, hence the "LOOKUP FAILED" and blank space issue.
