Alternate death mod or function
Alternate death mod or function = Instant buy

I am considering buying the game following the last update with survival options, even if I do not like when damage modifiers are explained via abstract wording instead of percentages.

Now I am waiting for someone to make an alternate death mod, or even better if it is added as a setting (please Bethesda think of it).

If anyone knows of such a mod, like Skyrim's Nemesis and Alternative Death System or Fallout NV Another Kick in the Head (a Death Alternative), please post a link.

In general alternate death mods provide continuous gameplay experience making save scumming redundant, add immersion, and raise the risk-reward in some cases.

Lastly Steam Workshop support will also be really nice.

Not yet, but once the Creation Kit is released, then maybe. I want that one as well

A hardcore option like Souls would be sweet haha

So, the Creation Kit is released. Let's hope someone will undertake this.

Actually, another very well made example of such an alternative death mod is "Santa Muerte - Death Alternative" for Cyberpunk 2077. There are even sliders to change to your liking the chances of waking up on the same spot, or in a hospital, or on a ripper doc, or even in dark alley, and the chances in % of being mugged and your equipment being stolen.

In Starfield's case I do not know what will be the best option for when dying during a space battle...

If the UC or Freestar get to you then you would be sent to jail. If I were to guess on the best option. Since one of Skyrim's versions do this.

One idea on my mind: After losing your ship and cargo, you could always find yourself being picked up out of an escape pod in either someone's cargo hold or docking port and then get the option to either buy their ship off of them or steal it from them to replace the ship you lost out in space.

Dunno how the mechanic could work, but I'm going to assume someone with knowledge on how the Creation Kit works could figure it out
