Starfield

The DLCs will change this game. How many will there be?
I’m thinking/hoping that Bethesda will release 3 DLCs for Starfield.
I base this on the fact that they released 3 for their last 2 main games (Skyrim/FO4) so they’ve probably got that many planned for this game too.
We know the first one is “Shattered Space” only we don’t know what is in it, as yet.

But what do you think/imagine the other 2 will be about?

There’s bound to be one to flesh out the outpost building because you can tell a ton of stuff was pulled from that before release.
It makes business sense to do this … and Bethesda are a business after all so any complaints claiming all of this should be free can very easily be ignored.
To me, it seems obvious that outpost building will be improved and maybe they’ll add a better economy system into that DLC as well.

I wonder what could be in the “final” DLC ???
Any thoughts?

(Now I presume we will get the normal posts by the people who disagree with everything.
Some of them should look again at their standards but will just arrive here to complain that the game is blah blah blah.
We all know what they’re going to say so try your best to ignore them)

Let’s try our best to have a positive discussion without lowering the standards.
Please.

You should’ve listened when Bethesda were “just saying” that the CK and DLC were set for release in early 2024.
Unless you’ve already had 3 30 day bans in 2024.
But to have achieved that you would’ve needed to have folded space and time.
Or use some kind of a loading screen.

But any 30 day ban you achieved in 2023 doesn’t count in your total.
Yeah. Todds dreamy blue eyes suckered me into another Bethesda scam. I thought I learned my lesson after F76, but im an idiot and like hurting myself sometimes.

I said before my first ban (november?) that Bethesda would use the CK and dlc as a carrot on a stick to keep up sales. So far I wasnt wrong.
You could imagine the complaints on the main forum on day one release if everyone had done the first “mining” mission only to discover that it would now take them 7 hours of manned flight to get to the Lodge.

Everyone would’ve been screaming for a loading screen.
>People actually fantasising about 5-6 DLCs and even Starfield 2

Are you all still connected to reality?

Here's a reality check for you. The game has hit over 13 million players[www.windowscentral.com]. The game was expected to make $1 billion for Bethesda and Microsoft[www.forbes.com], and all reaction from them seems to indicate it's on course to do that.

Now, care to explain why thoughts about DLC or even a possible sequel is so unrealistic?

Because the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. Everyone was excited, bought it, played it and the huge majority of people were disappointed.
The sheer fact that it was an initial success means absolutely nothing for upcoming DLCs or even a second game. Most players abandoned it and would not buy further content.

You are mistaken if you think these numbers mean anything for the future of this IP. The daily player numbers and the horrible steam critics speak for itself: This game is dead.
So your evidence is simply your own assertion it wouldn't be worth it, basically.

Because everything you just said is ambiguous and doesnt contain any facts, just hearsay?

Also the player count being below asset flip mobile games is a good signal that there wont be a Stafailed 2 or any DLC beyond what we already paid for?

Wheres my DLC todd???

My evidence are the number of daily players and the steam ratings of this game.
Do you actually think, they drop a DLC and suddenly millions of disappointed players come back?
This won't have a comeback like Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk was broken to the core technically. Starfield is broken to the core mechanically and story wise.

I don't know why you don't see the ultra low player numbers and draw a simple conclusion: Most players abandoned this game and won't come back.

Contrary, what is YOUR evidence, everything turns to the better and they throw out multiple DLCS?

Sorry, you have just shown you have absolutely no idea what a 'fact ' is.
Modern gaming industry:

DLC 1:
qol, vehicle, new dungeon template, few new weapon
$10-20, mostly negative ~ mix

DLC 2:
one space station city, few quest
new procedural space station (dungeon) require player must fly by and will trigger spaceship fight
dungeon focus on 0g fight
$30-50, mix ~ positive
That’s the thing about Bethesda.
They’re known for releasing games and then abandoning them if the reviews in the first 6 months aren’t favourable.
Look at Fallout76.
That got hammered in the months after release so Bethesda dumped it and never looked at it again.
It never recovered and now is a dead game, just as the trolls predicted.

We should listen to them more often because they’ve never been proved to be wrong.

Those are just words from a Bethesda marketeting person, those are not facts. If they were true and absolute, Microsoft would provide a way to verify it. But they dont, because its just disingenuous and deceptive marketing speak, nothing more.

I think that Bethesda have the full “release” mapped out already so they (and only they) know what the game will eventually be like.

That hit's the nail on the head as they say. There are so many obvious places where the dialogs allude to mechanics that are not currently implemented, and promises made by Todd personally as well.

We already know the first DLC is a continuation of the Starborn story line. The dialogs point specifically to a much more advanced for out outposts, including selectable resource transfer, attacks and defense. The additional level of ship crews allude to much tougher space battles...

This game was released unfinished, not broken. And with apologies to all the doom and gloomers, I don't think we've currently seen a quarter of the finished product. I'd estimate at least 2 or 3 additional 'story' (content) DLCs, and probably 2 or 3 additional DLCs that solely add/buff the vanilla mechanics.

My guess would be 5 or 6 total. This is Todd's Magnum opus and we haven't seen nuttin yet

My sentiments entirely, they spent years developing an amazing backdrop and some very good ideas, but the money men came in and wanted a quick return of their investment and voila we end up with far too much obvious cut and paste, lame boring quests that consist of little more than "go here then go there"

In between there are some glimpses of what should have been (books that open quest lines, finding a seemingly random POI that spawns a quest line)

This is an amazing game that is waiting to be finished and there is an almost unlimited potential to how great that finish can be
