Delayed voice lines completely breaking immersion
I've tried to get into Starfield a couple times now, but one thing keeps me from really wanting to invest time into it:
For some reason, NPCs seem to really struggle with getting their dialogue out.

When I go to a new location with a follower, they are stoic and silent. It isn't until I'm *leaving* that suddenly they have a ton to say. Some times, it doesn't bother me too much; like when followers would comment on how lovely the resort planet is (and all of the things they want to try) only once we're leaving. But then Barrett mentioned how he would "love to try running the Red Mile with me sometime"... ON THE WAY BACK FROM RUNNING THE RED MILE. It was after this that I really started to notice how frequent this bug was (which is to say it happens constantly).

NPCs in general also seem to struggle with normal dialogue. The first line is never lip-synced until the second line starts, and then the animation quickly catches up. I don't think I've managed to have a single non-buggy conversation.

I can deal with most other gripes I have with this game.. But the fact that when anyone opens their mouth it will inevitably break immersion is too much for me.

I have a recently built gaming PC and have Starfield on my SSD with plenty of extra space (and am able to play other equally intensive games with no issues), so this is not a problem stemming from hardware. I've searched for fixes online but have either had difficulty finding users with the same issue or have found people resigning themselves to it never being fixed.

Have others had this problem and any success in fixing it? Or are there channels Bethesda actually listens to for bug reports? (I tend to only have success with bug reporting to indie devs)

I have no issues with this at all.

I'm assuming you have HDD installation or external SSD????

You pretty much need a late generation SSD or nvme. A LOT of stuff is constantly loading in this game.

I played the first 100 hours of Starfield with that annoying problem. I then installed a larger SSD drive, reinstalled the game onto the SSD and it eliminated the issue.

As mentioned in my question, I have a recently bought/built CPU with it installed on my ~900GB SSD. I can clear up more space (there's already plenty available), but I don't understand why it's not running better???

Well I'm sorry you have this issue. I seriously doubt it's the game at fault since only a few people have had this issue and it was always related poor system hardware.

You could get more precise help if you posted better system specs.
