Lookup failed
I get that message after the SF last update : weapons do not show their specs in the inventory nor when scanning one (either on the ground or on a body). I disabled alll the mods but no change ... Would anybody have a suggestion to solve this problem ? Thanks in advance !

I had this problem too and I finally figured out what it was. Do you have the Starfield Community Patch installed or / and enabled?

I'm slowly re-enabling mods and the lookup failed bug hasn't shown up again so far. I will keep you updated.

what you want to do is only launch the game via sfse and have updates set to update when launched, setup like this you can wait till mods and sfse are updated to install the game update ,
if you're not using a mod organizer you really should it makes it a whole lot easier to keep track of whats active and whats not, what needs an update

Okay, so I have narrowed down which mod it is.

If you have this mod, just disable it and it should be fixed.

after edit:
I -am- using mod manager 2, but thanks for the advice :)

does it work pretty good ?
i'm using vortex and it kinda sucks , i dont like it at all . it's like it wants to control everything without my input, i feel like i have no control over it

I used to use vortex as well and then i switched to mod manager and well, it takes some getting used to, but MM2 is now my preference.

Look for a "strings" folder in your starfield data folder and rename it to stringsxxxx. Probably be in <install folder>/Data.

The mod author of the mod, strongly suggests to disable it. So I woudl follow that advice to avoid problems at a later date.

I'm sure someone has said it but It's coming from something that renames, rearranges or otherwise alters text that is looked up in a database (inventory tags, localization, etc) and is then displayed. A mod's string database and the game's no longer match. Check any mod that uses item sorting tags or adds/removes descriptions to/from items.

The compact series that mods the UI is supposedly bugged as well. I'm not using it currently though.

Any mod that adds strings and becomes outdated does that.
