It also doesn't have the replay-ability or staying power of previous Bethesda releases, as you can see from the crashing player count compared to other BGS games. I've just started a second run myself and I'm really struggling to get back into the game. There is just nothing to do or explore once you've completed a full run. BGS have managed to make a one-and-done. Mods will probably help a lot once the tools release, and Shattered Space will almost certainly give it a temporary boost, but I'm pretty confident that it will (sadly) never be another Fallout NV, 4, or Skyrim, when it comes to sustained decade-long engagement. People are still finding new stuff in all the prior mentioned titles to this day. Starfield I had experienced pretty much everything there was to experience in my first week of playing, and I was surprised to see I had earned most of the achievements without even noticing.
Personally, I can still play it and have a good time, but I absolutely understand why a lot of people cant.
Feel free to read my review. I've updated it regularly through my playtime so you can see how things progressed from the beginning until very recently. Performance has been flawless and I haven't encountered any real problems at all.
My biggest complaint is you level up, you get perk points. But if you want a higher rank of a perk, it requires little challenges to be completed to have the ability to.
For example: "Sweet, I leveled up and I can level up my explosives skill, wait, I need to kill 106 more people with explosives before I can do that. Guess I'll level up something else and get that later. Oh wait, I need to pick 14 more locks before I can level up that skill. Aww and I only need 1 more boost jump in combat. Too bad this quest has been entirely non combat for 45 minutes. Guess I'll either save it or pick a throwaway perk."
Just give ranks level requirements if you want to cu*k us like that Todd.
There were also the barebone issues, with combat, space combat, lack of a survival mode, the settlement system being very, VERY limited with no actual entertainment value, like none, not even compared to the basic Fallout 4 settlement system.
The Woke stuff didn't help. Like at all. People are tired of it. That 3rd party site for mods started banning mods that removed pronouns and while this isn't directly on Bethesda, it didn't help a bit, on the contrary, it did damage.
Then there's the updates, which have been very underwhelming. Fix, fix, fix, here's a photo mode. Come on.
Then there's their involvement with that Baby narrative consultancy company everyone is talking about on youtube which managed to piss off the whole of the gaming world, which isn't easy to do and put a permanent stain on the games they were involved with.
Their last hope now would be the expansion, what's it called? Shattered something. But given the way this game has been treated by it's own devs, I doubt that's gonna save it, or that it's gonna be any good.
Anyway, this game is why I won't bother with anything else they put out unless it's gonna prove to be damned good. I mean Skyrim levels of good, but I doubt they'll ever be able to pull that off ever again.
LOL. There is literally a mod for that already. More than one in fact. You will find it on Nexus.
They released it.
Once people had played it for over a month the honeymoon period was over, the blinders came off, and most people finally realized what it was they had bought.
For the last ~5.5 months it's had the same ~42% approval rating on Steam. It's widely recognized as "severely meh", and not a good purchase for the price. There's no Creation Kit yet, no DLC, and few patches that fix game issues.
If you even wanted to try it out, it's recommended you go to PC Gamepass, get a 1-month trial for ~$10, and check it out there. You can get through most of it's content in a month anyway, and you'll know if you want to dump $70 on it for the NG+ experience. I wouldn't, but that's me.
The problem is the sale will be over before you decide, but the game is complicate with very good points and very weak points.
If you like RPG more particularly, I warmly advise try it on gamepass, if not, I can't say.
Nothing happen, actually happen false marketing than people start play the game and than the score started lower and thats it.
A crap game is bad no matter how much you spend on marketing....
