Plugins.txt Enabler
Is this one safe yet? (After yesterday's update) I keep reading reports it's not working any more,

https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/4157?tab=posts&BH=0

P.S. I hear no one talking about it. That means either it's not an issue, or the game is truly dead.

LOL. Wasn't meant to be bait. See, the plugin enabler is an extremely vital tool, for all your ESM mods. So, I worded it precisely right: either there's no problem with it, or nobody seems to be playing any more. :)
Well .. for people who load esm/esl files, yes the game would be hard to play, absolutely.

I verified that the Plugin.txt enabler works for both GamePass and Steam after the update. Obviously, you have to wait for the actual plugin too to be fixed, if required.

I wrote this for the gamepass users (while I was playing the game on gamepass):
https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/181z6xg/installing_pluginstxt_enabler_using_asi_loader_on/

I also use it if I want to install only a couple ASI only mods when beta testing, etc. SFSE or address library never put out beta test updates, so only ASI files can be loaded without SFSE.

After the update, right? (I forgot to mention that in my post)

Best is to use Mod Organizer 2 (MO2) , have this in my modlist but never needed to edit or use the txt file, for some mods a LUT mod and the blood textures i need to edit the StarfieldCustom.ini

The game is unfinished and can not be truly dead, the creation kit is also not released yet.

Well, I'm using Vortex, on all 35 mods ihstalled. Switching to another mod manager now would be hell.

I have 162 mods installed via MO2 in my current playthrough. I exclusively used Vortex for quite a while since I have other nexus mods games.

I shifted all my Bethesda games to MO2 a while back since almost all the modders recommend using that. I figure they know what works best with their mods.

I can tell you that since I started using MO2, I do things that were barely even possible with vortex. For example, with Root Builder working properly, I can have an instance of vanilla game AND a modded game AND a different modded (completely different mod set) game that I can play at the same time (by loading the different saves). This all loads from the one main game directory.

All the saves are segregated automatically so I never load the wrong one with different mods. The vanilla game directory is always maintained pure and free of modded content.

Thanks for the detailed response. :) I will look into migrating to MO2.

I don't know. I use Real Time Form Patcher as well as SFSE and I have to wait for the mod author's update before my game will work. I have not been playing. Sorry!
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks, that is what I wanted to hear. :) I'll update my game now.

As for ESM updates, that's the beauty: none of those themselves rely on SFSE, so none of them need updating per se (unless the game radically threw all data schemes around, which they won't do).

running with all mods enabled (52 at the moment) and everything seems to work. Had to download updates for a few but everything else works
Alyx Mar 20, 2024 @ 6:36am
Just updated the game. Can confirm myself, Plugins.txt is still working, And so is everything else. No scrollbars missing, no interact not working, no keybinds being messed up, no changed character face, etc. It was all good. :)

That modular thingy looks intetesting. Does it also de-DEI-fy the women a bit, to make em more attractive?
