What's happening with downloading nexus mods?
Been many hours on the game. Used Vortex to download mods, and most of them would not work ig. Got fed up. Destroyed every files of vortex, every mods, and uninstalled the game. Reloaded, and trying now to use NMM for better of for worst. Loaded manually 2 mods that are necessary to make NMM work. Still no activation of mods ig. Reading twice the info I had, it read: 'use the mod manager, it will by itself send the mods files into the right place' Tried to do that. Now each time I tried to download a mod, would get a full window of green bars scanning my computer for every game nexus has mods!!!! If y let this run for 30-40 min, the scanning is stopped but when I click to download a mod, says they didn't find anything and that nexus will close. Tried reloading vortex, same results (I mean the green scanning lines of all games)!! So either way thru NMM or Vortex. Can't load mods on mod manager or Vortex. I HAVE to use one to know in which file I got download future mods.

I personally don't recommend using NMM as it's no longer supported by Nexus.

I do realize the community now supports it however unless one is well versed in NMM to begin with I simply do not recommend it.

I'd also wait for official mod support before I started modding this game but that's me.

As for Vortex there is a proper way to remove all mods and their lingering files.
Might have to purge Vortex Properly which we would often do with Skyrim SE.

I haven't updated Vortex since last July or August when I was modding Skyrim SE.

See if the following makes sense with your version of Vortex because these are some of the steps I used to purge my Skyrim mods from Vortex. The steps should be the same.

1. First go to Extensions and disable "Script Extension Error check" setting (if using SFSE)
2. Under "Settings" also untick "Deploy Mods when Enabled.
3. Now "Purge" your mods using the "Purge" button at the top of the Mods section.
To do this go to the "Mods" section click on any mod (so it highlights) then "CNTRL+A" and look to the very bottom, you'll now see a new white section of options at the bottom. Use the "Remove" option (has a trash can icon next to it) and also check "Delete Archive", click "OK" and wait while Vortex does its work. When it's finished proceed to the final steps.
4. Now deploy mods - this will remove the plugins
5. Go to the plugin section and make sure there are no mod plugins remaining. You'll only be able to disable them here but you can go to the folder the files are in and remove them there
6. Just in case: Did you Go into your Data folder and double check for plugins that are not part of the base game? Not sure what those might be as it depends what you have installed.

Repeat Step 3 if there are any mods remaining in the "Mods" section of Vortex.

Don't forget to re-enable any Vortex settings from steps 1 and 2

Vortex, which I use, is more hand-holdy, and limited if you do too much with it stuff breaks.
Using it for SkyrimAE/VR was like slamming your head into a brick wall most days.

NMM is better for the experienced user, like being a linux user.

Nexus (knows) NMM is better, but they had a "greedy idea moment" and created Vortex, it was only after the shrieks they relented and said "a um OK we will give you NMM but you all will have to maintain it."

Vortex is something to avoid if at all possible.

Go onto Nexus and check with the NMM threads.

I am parking the game (after 160 hours? +-) till full Creation Kit and modding is implemented.

As there is no real competition for this type of "open world space rpg game" there is no sense of urgency from bethesda/microsoft.
