When is murder ok?
Personally I like to role play in the game. So I don't commonly just murder people who are difficult or problematic. However on my third NG+, when trying to deal with the disreputable scientist by a tree, who refuses to provide data, unless I cook the books for his career, I just went stealth and shot him...

Honestly it was an extremely satisfying experience... I never realized homicide could be so rewarding. I glibly went over to the first scientists and provided the needed data. I felt no moral dilemma, I felt liberated from the social stigma of murder because, I think after three universes of stonewalling by this toolbag, he had it coming...

Why don't you share your stories of homicide and murder? No judging, just sharing... :steamhappy:

The ones I would most like to murder are set as essential. And I don't wish to override that as it might cause complications with the game.

RIGHT! I tried to murder a crew member once. You CAN'T. WHERE'S THE JUSTICE? lol

If they don't want to open their cargo even when I'm asking nicely.

A lot of people deserve to be murdered in Starfield. Both main factions deserve to be murdered en masse.

Unfortunately the game (developers) don't allow you to do ♥♥♥♥. You can't fight the obviously evil and bad factions, people, corporations or anyone of note.

It's almost like Bethesda identifies too closely with the corpo world they built that they didn't want anyone to be able to do ♥♥♥♥ about it.

Basically Starfield is a game that allows you to experience the wet dream of every corpo and your only choice is to do all their bidding. You can then go through the unity and do it again and again and again and again and again until you just accept the corpo world they created.

There are so many many better games with values, stories, choices and world building out there.

Its funny you say that because multiple times I ran into seriously demented people on quests, and I'm looking for the option to just end them, and there is none... Hmm, I have like 10,000 homicides of the "bad" guys on my profile, but this monster makes the random pirates look like Mr Rogers. But my only option is, go along with them? One of them is the dude in charge of Neon. Ran into him. Just KNEW he was unkillable... His city the cops are extorting the shopkeepers, aiding murderers, it's the most corrupt place in the universe. NOPE, you have to make friends with him. BIZARRE!

My favorite is when the quest gives you an option to kill an entire city worth of colony ship inhabitants, but apparently killing a few executives at the conference table is no-no.

The WHAT? Who's going to stop me? A few hotel guards? What makes a few suits so special?

Whoever designed this quest should never ever be allowed to design any quest in any game again. They are unfit for the job.

Indeed.
The excuse I have heard most is that they did it to avoid game breaking bugs.
But games going back 40 years allowed you to kill quest givers, main characters and everything in between...

But Bethesda, a billion dollar company, just couldn't make a game where you can kill "important" people.

They did add NG+ but from everything I have seen it seems more of a necessary reset of the game files than an actual game feature.

And as I reminder... This is a game released in 2023. It's a joke...

Yeah... I also got the distinct impression that NG+ was just a write in excuse as the only way to shed game breaking bugs when you encounter them... After I built my perfect custom ship, the maximum series of outposts with supply chains that took FOREVER to get to work properly, Form ID bug, game over. The only work around was NG+...

I agree, NG+ seems like a universal bug fix, and not a feature...

I agree.... I think I created a thread on this forum after playing the quest the first time.
I was honestly baffled and shocked by the Constant quest.

Unfortunately I can't find the thread...

I did find this one though which I think is appropriate.

I feel theres something missing with bayu (the neon boss) in the current content. I believe he should have a faction quest tied to Ryujin, a bit like UC sysdef and the crimson fleet. Ryujin and Bayu basically fight for the control of neon and you pick a side. That could be a DLC idea.

If you wish to get rid of constellation, you can indirectly have them dead on your universe. Reset NG+ until you find the one with the hunter waiting at the lodge.

Murder is never ok. I know it might seem like a good idea at the time but you have your whole life to live.
