What powers do you use and why?
I'm on NG+6 and only use two powers (not a fan of the space wizards aspect of the game or NG+ but that's another post).

I really only use two powers. Personal Atmosphere as my way to beat the carrying limit and occasionally Phased Time because it's too finniky to smuggle Aurora off of Neon.

I've tried some of the other powers once or twice but that's about it. I've collected about 15 or so of them.

What other powers do you use and why? What do you reckon is their benefit? Do you find them fun/interesting? If so, how and why?

Sense Star Stuff to highlight enemies without being limited to the scanner/cutter

Sense Star Stuff, Phased Time, Antigravity Field Thingy, Personal Atmosphere.

Probably same like nearly everyone else because those are the most useful powers that don't even require leveling to be useful.

I would add Void Form to the list. Why? Because its stealth in fast mode. I cast Void Form right before a pickpocket. Something I do at the beginning of every NG to build up funds for crafting mats.

Whom do you pickpocket, and how much do you get? Seems to me, there are easier ways of making money.... Faster too. :D

Why do you use the antigravity field? (I've not really found it useful at higher levels.)

What does it do exactly?

The percentage based damage powers are a life saver when you're starting a NG+. Kill high hp targets easily for 0 ammo cost. I use Solar flare (single target) and vacuum (static aoe, great for swarmlings or ship rooms filled with enemies).

Grav dash gets better and better each rank. If you use a starborn essence it's afaik the fastest way of moving your character.

Personal atmosphere used to be one of my favorites but at lvl 200 with all the O2 and O2 consumption bonuses from skills, space suit and alien DNA I never run out of O2. So I rather use the energy to do more grav dashs.

The vendors and shop customers will have 800 to 1400 credits in their pocketses. Some shops have stuff worth stealing and reselling as well. Void Form helps with this. I go around to all the shops buying the mats I need. This is in the first hours of NG before I have anything modded. After that, I don't use pickpocket anymore, because cleaning out NPC ships and bases is much more profitable.

Makes me invisible and undetectable for 1 action. Robbing the bank kiosks is easy. Doesn't matter who's watching.

Its a troll, fus ro dah from skyrim. Which is similar to gravity wave in SF but gravity wave is better, since you dont have to hold the key to charge the power.

Also shouts in skyrim all share the same cooldown bar which is way less practical than the energy/mana system in SF.

This makes me realize I have many more powers to play around with!

I go to Kreet anyway, as I am already in the neighborhood, and hit the various farms near the facility you would kill the pirates at on a new game. I can generally find some decent weapons, then I can go ship raiding. (wanted trait) That, and I almost always see a couple ships land shortly after I do..... Some of 'em are worth some decent money. :D

For disabling enemies when I kick the door, throw a grenade in and start shotgun blasting people into their faces.
At higher level boarding actions in ship interiors that are very cramped it can be inconvenient when they spawn in groups of anything between 3 to 6 and even a single life bar enemy ten levels lower than you might come with a machinegun magpulse.

It's not that useful for a sniper crit character, but crowd control can be handy for short/mid range stormtrooper type.
