I haven’t played with the rest nearly enough to have gained an opinion of them, but I can easily see how their liberation underpinnings have them bending the rules to get their way within the confines of their group think.
It would be cool if the devs made NG universes whereby their morals are different, Sarah a crimson fleet captain. Sam, a vanguard marine captain (there is a mission where free star rangers and UC marines work together under a UC captain).
Cora and sona are besties, hanging out in the orphanage together. They should make a war orphanage for new Atlantis.
Sarah: "No! I cannon't be a part of this!" and then leaves my party.
Guards: "Stop right there!" and then start shooting me over a coffee mug.
Me: WTF is going on? How did this happen?
but in this one? nah there all the same "how dare you accidentally steal that empty folder no one cares about i shall leave and never return", when picking up something worth 30k to sell "do we really need that junk?" Yes! we do maybe this is why your club" only had one crappy ship cause you refused to grab stuff thats worth alot to sell! but at the same time these morons are more then happy to always say " found you something useful" and all the ygive is a stupid leaf! how about you collect me ammo and credits ffs even in fo4 companions looted bodies
Sarah has the worst storyline, background and personality it is just pure contradiction.
W/ other Constellation Companion they are straight forward.
You can even romance most of them but you can only have one commitment. The pronouns in Character creation barely matter w/ Companion Romance.
The game even tone down how to make your companion OP. You need skill/perk to boast Companion weight capacity. Giving them armor that increase their weight capacity do nothing to them except Chameleon. The only way to make them useful in combat give them heavy weapon w/ high fire rate. They are just glorified turrets w/ terrible accuracy.
The writers and game devs involve creating companions in the game just suck especially w/ Space Karen.
While most of Bethesda companions have some interesting stories and amusing/slightly entertaining lines I find them to be mediocre and rather shallow compared to companions in other games.
Do I think the writer is capable of better?
Yes I do, but I feel that the writer/s are often given the short shaft and much of their content gets cut for production purposes and the result is disappointing characters who's backgrounds often don't line up with their actions or the games mechanics (bugs included) and end up feeling overly severe or even blatantly hypocritical.
So decent yes.
Awe inspiring... not yet in my book.
I get more entertainment from shooting them.
Fully agree with the statement - it's the same in real life btw - what I don't understand is why Morgan "hated" my use of a non lethal scanning power which I had used several times before to locate people without generating a negative reaction from her so why this time ?
yeah she'd be much better if she was idk ~20 years younger and was completely mute
would actually be kinda cute to have a young hottie following you around and using sign language to berate you every time you did anything
I found it to be insufferable solely because of the reddit "le heckin' pupper companionerino xD" vibes, and especially how I was forced to have him as a companion to complete the main quest in Fallout 4. It's not the character itself, it's how forced it is. If I could just go and have him as a companion without the redditor pupperino cringe, I probably would. But because of that it just creates an aversion. Similar to everything else that they want to push on you. When I notice they really really want me to go in a certain direction or like a certain character, I feel like doing the opposite just because.
