Sarah Morgan Attitude
Is it me or Sarah Morgan can be a pain in the backside of biblical proportion at times ? Last one was during a quest (Eleos) where I am helping a convict rehab group (out of kindness) as I tend to be a nice guy). Serching for a bad one I used the starborn power to locate him/her and one second later Morgan blows her fuses and accuse me of "making bad decisions for Constellation" and tells me that she will be leaving the ship as soon as we're on a starport. Since this is not the first time it happens, I told her to be my guest and took her off the ship crew list. I think I am better of withjout followers !

it's a well made game , the npc's arent your minions willing to do your bidding no matter what your choices are , they have morals and values , the companions are pretty well fleshed out characters, Sarah didnt agree with your choice and she let you know, excellent writing

it's not excellent writing at all.

Constellation continually contradict their own mission statement.

And the whole lot of them are moralising goody two shoes, that threaten to leave at the drop of a hat.

You cannot show them your way is the right way, you can't swing them around to backing you, you either do things exactly the way they want or they get mad and leave.
You can leave them behind on planets and they still know what you did 35LY's away.

It's terrible writing.

the whole Walter mission highlights this perfectly.

I NG+ 5 times, after the first run, I never used any constellation followers, because of how tiresome they make the game experience.

They are possibly the worst companions I have ever seen in any game to date with this mechanic used in it.

There was a funny bit of dialogue I caught on my ship yesterday where Sam was complaining to Andreja that Sarah was always magically appearing behind him every time he made the slightest mistake pointing it out.

I thought it was just me she did that to. Almost drove my ship into an astroid laughing. That would have gotten me another lecture.

But at least it means the Devs did know how she is and made a joke on it.

I still think there's a bug with companion approval. Most things work fine except for that one reaction which is either the opposite of what I expected or way off the scale.

Sarah Morgan dislikes all of us and especially this thread.

The Companion system in the game is not near as good as it is in say, Fallout 4. You have only 4 you can have a affinity rating with. In Fallout 4, base game, you have 11. :P

And in SF, Isolation Skill, is too OP to even use a companion. 40% extra damage is huge.

In Fallout 4, you do 25% more damage if you want to solo. And there is a Perk which gives your companion more damage resistance and damage if you want to have a companion.

Gaining affinity with companions in Starfield, only offers a romance option. While in Fallout 4, you can gain some very useful permanent buffs, plus a romance option. :p

Starfield sort of discourages you from using a companion. While Fallout 4, does the opposite.

good writting , the companions have personalities , quirks and can be annoying. they arent just your pack mule yes man/woman

I would rather have Marcy from Fallout 4 as a companion.

Sarah Morgan is the only Constellation that is not well made. Her backstory is full of contradiction like she is an military officer w/ PTSD but all she do yell at the player when she wanted to open up. No wonder her dead subordinate still haunts her.

Seriously she first introduce herself to be neutral then starts to berate the player if the player ask for more credits in some quest. Even her companion conversation started about her mentor now she is trying a mentor relationship with the player. Then suddenly she got stress in her job due she is not doing her job in Constellation. She knows it's her fault because she wanted to explore Space w/ the player.

W/ that type of conversation it felt like she is only talking to herself.

I can understand why some Constellation hate violence due to their background. W/ Sarah Morgan she need to be Jettison like this lady will not survive in space even she is a former military officer that commanded a military vessel.

Made the same decision.

I do like other followers like Andreja thought.

Yet the "angry" system is strange. I did help a few random fellows agains alien monsters, multiple times getting 1000 credits each. Then in the 3rd group i think i accidentily hit one of the fellows, they then attack me to the death. killed them 15.000 bounty on, for one killed person. I healt another one being on the ground (due to the alien monsters not because of me). after i gave him my medikit, he said thank you, stood up and attacked me. another 15.000 credits bounty. I think that was the time andreja went angry. then she wanted to talk to me because of her personal quest, thanking me how great i am etc. after that quest talk, she went into: "f*ck* off mode again.

When talking to her i could "persuade" her which failed. and no companion ever realy talked about what specificly offended them. So i am like: Your feelings, your buisness, just tell me when you dealt with your feelings.

In real life i know a person with PTSD (not due to war, but due to an injury) and I was there to talk as i care if someone needs empathy, but he often get into a "troll discussion" mode, to get his serotonin levels up again on the cost of his surroudnigns (had that tendency even before), so i said good by to him too - great decision for my life. Also gave him the feedback that he could get his serotonin levels up a different way, without alienating other people.

So maybe Sarah is written... realisticly?

Now mainly my followers are for making combat more easy and making personal quests. (if i like the quest). Thats my solution.

Sarah Morgan is a hypocritic abomination. I do not want to ever see or hear this character again. Merely knowing I'd have her forced upon me again does wonders to prevent me from ever considering NG+.

I don't mind dislikeable characters, but not when the game literally forces them as my companions. This is pure Mary Sue writing when the writer assumes that the character is likeable, has to be liked and forces it into the player face.

Except for meeting her - where she was ok - i never had the impression i need to talk her with me on a mission. Just not doing her personal mission, thats the great freedom the game gives.

First for me yesterday. "Sarah Morgan hated that."

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but this is true. Sarah's role in the game isn't to stroke the players ego at every turn. NPCs have... agency. This is a rarity in video RPGs and it can be shocking when one runs across it.

Sarah can indeed be annoying, but she is her own person and not a robot there to stroke you. This is a good thing. If you don't like it, there are three other Constellation companions, plus a dozen non-Constellation followers, including one whose sole purpose IS to stroke your ego at every turn (The Annoying Fan).

That said, I have no idea what power you used to piss her off, but if it is considered an attack on an innocent, then yeah, she will get pissed off.

if the player loves (or hates) ALL the characters then they are written unrealllisticly.

So yeah i agree with you i think.
