Double Input on Remote Play
I use an ROG Ally to remote play games a lot, and until recently, Starfield as well.

Today I booted up the game remote play and all of my inputs are doubled. Like press up or down in a menu move 2 selections instead of one.

I did some googling and some other people had this issue, but resolved it by disabling "xbox controller support" in the steam options. This was already disabled on both my host and client PCs. There is no controller override setting in place for Starfield on either computer.

I have tried rebooting both the Ally and my PC. I tried disabling steam input translation altogether on both computers.

I tested other games remote play and they work fine. I tested Starfield on the PC with a plugged in Xbox One X controller and it works fine. I launched Starfield natively on the ROG Ally and it works fine. This only happens when I remote play in with the Ally, that's it.

Update: I isolated the issue down to the ROG Ally itself. It still only affected Starfield, but remote playing to any other device didn't recreate the issue.

Turns out I recently hooked up a cheap xbox 360 controller to the system and that installed another driver that conflicted with the driver for the built in controller. Essentially, there were two drivers that the controller was using, so its inputs were doubled.

I couldn't properly remove the driver without it automatically reinstalling, and I couldn't remove the driver file so to fix this, I just did a cloud recovery on the system and started over. Problem fixed.
