Yeah I'm really happy with the FSR3 update, nicely done to Bethesda.

Can someone please explain to me what this means? Can I change something in settings to take advantage of this?

Huge kudos to Bethesda for adding AMD's FSR3.

I did try it with my Nvidia (RTX3090) and while I did have an increase in FPS of around +40 I still like the look of DLSS over FSR3 on my setup and I do average around 100 FPS with it as well.

But to have the option to choose one or the other is outstanding for all of us.

you should be able to choose XeSS too (no frame gen though) ... only DLSS is hardware specific to nvidia.
I can but DLSS on Auto is the sweet spot for me.

When I turn on frame gen I am getting a 20-30% microstutter rate in the AMD overlay. However it does not feel that bad, but not perfectly smooth either. Without v-sync on in the game menu I get screen tearing.

Good, other than using the 1080 ti, our build seems close enough as not to nitpick, so i thank you for bringing us some good news from the beta testing.

So just testing it out even though i don't need it. Below pics can't quite do it justice. I did prefer DLSS visually and shadows are different as time of day is different. FSR3 is a huge improvement over FSR2 but AA still not that great. Shimmering on power lines or worse lines on the ground like landing pads or whatever. It's Frame Generation does outperform DLSS Frame Generation at same render scale oddly.

For FSR3 to get near DLSS Quality 67% and it still won't look as good as DLSS you need to set Render Scale at 100%. Can still see jaggies/shimmering on windows, awnings etc though and it's pretty annoying. And performance ofc suffers as it goes well below DLSS fps. So i'm calling DLSS the winner here visually. But FSR3+Frame Generation does work great and lot of people gonna luv it. So maybe they're both winners. But i'm glad i have a RTX 4080 and DLSS and the option to use Frame Generation if/when i ever need it.

Noticed this as well. I have a 14900K (13900KS on my other rig) and 4090 Strix with 48GB DDR5 vat 8200mhz, running all ultra settings 4k I see FSR 3 with frame gen boost about 40 fps higher in some areas than DLSS quality but as you said visually it isn't as good. Just goes to show me they never really optimized it for DLSS at all.

i get 160 average fps on akilla with everything at max using no upscaling in akillla with the 7900 xtx using fsr 3 framegeneration and the image quality is great.Whats more incredible is that now my cpu is pegged at 100% and gpu at 70% were as before frame gen it was the opposite.
