yea it fun when updated the ship and all that crap goes into your cargo hold which is why I hate the frontier 450 pounds of junk and you can't sell it the ship not the junk

Each time you modify a ship, the junk goes in the cargo bay, I think.

Seems, there's another problem with outpost, too. Each time you add something (module, asset, etc), you're not able to use the various workbenches in the outpost ... . I have to exit the game and restart it for the workbenches to work properly ... .

I think this happens when you do the upgrade option rather than use the ship builder itself. The spawnable stuff respawns, but the ship builder didn't clear up the earlier items .

Using the ship builder should clean this up in the usual way.

on the bright side, this practically hands you the merchant perk unlocks on a platter. But its very annoying if you tinker with your ship a lot and have lots of habs.

Nope, happens with builder as well. I look at it as free money, I just wish there was a "sell all" button for misc junk.

Yep it's annoying, and adds an extra step of selling junk from the inventory while hoping not to accidentally sell something we care about. Probably not high on BSG's list of things to address, but I hope the eventually do.

No, all stuff is put in cargo not only the junk, AND all stuff included in design of each part is respawned.

The simpler is not have anything of value in misc items category, and sell all in a shop. But for sure it requires some caution.

One of the first things I do after I change my ship, is immediately hit the trade authority kiosk, and sell off all the misc items that have recurred in my ship. :D

Yeah not a big deal for me too.

But if at least captain cargo was working properly that would be quite ok overall but for making ship a sort of home base. Alas it seems that now it even breaks ship building, but anyway, it never worked properly, captain cargo was also put in ship cargo like for all other containers or stuff in ship.

EDIT:
To replace a dysfunctional captain cargo, the simpler is use a main outpost with 2 or 3 captain chests, with quick travel it's not much different in fact, the only real difference is for the mood.
