Taiyo Build Errors
Is anyone else having major issues ensuring the Docker, Landing Bay and Cockpit are all functioning properly?

I'm trying to build a somewhat linear ship and I have MULTIPLE habs interconnected but it keeps saying the docker and the landing bay aren't connected even though there is a very clear path...

I don't get this issue with any of the other Starship builders...

Your close, but not quite.. It's not what either of you have said, though it is a problem with a part that has no hab connections, or even an interior.

It's a problem with the *Braking Engine* part. It's "top" connector point is set slightly off where it's meant to be, and if you put this in first, and then put the cockpit on top, you'll get an error about how there's no path to the cockpit.
It'll still look connected if you "select all", because the Braking Engine is still connected to the rest of the ship.
Put the cockpit in first, and then the braking engine, and you won't have this problem.

Any screenshot you are trying to build?

Landing Bay is straight you need Cockpit and any hub. Landing bay just need to be bottom of a cockpit w/ hub. If you unlock Bridge cockpit you can place landing bay anywhere as long it's proximal. W/ Bridge cockpit you can create a mini Aircraft carrier but turrets.

W/ Docker you need a 2x1 Hub and another regular Hub. Make sure the Docker path isn't being block any objects like engine, structure and turret.

The only unique one will be this ship called Crimson Fleet Ghost.

It has a unique 2x1 Aft Hub to work that can be find on Hope Staryards.

there is a little arrow indicating the entry into the various cockpits; its not obvious at first.
you can go bay to hab to cockpit and various similar designs, but you have to pick the types that align that way.

As long as the parts are connected to viable attachment points there are two possibilities. A) The ship is bugged and you should delete all parts and place them anew from the G-menu. B) The game doesn't like the way the habs are connected. I noticed this myself when I tried to place a Ship Bed 200 bay on a captured Spacer Coyote. It didn't allow me to place it forward-facing, I had to mount it facing the engines. My guess is there's a minimum amount of stuff the habs need to have space for and having a bulkhead there made this impossible. Maybe that's the case here, too.

So, this is what I have so far. I've identified the issue as no matter where I put the Grav Drive AND/OR the Reactor, it throws up an error stating that the landing bay must connect to the cockpit. As soon as I delete the the drive and reactor, the error goes away.

Here is the base design of the ship:
Top: Captains Quarters --> Cockpit (captains quarters is connected to the end of the armory)
Bottom: Landing Bay --> Store Room --> Companionway W/Docker --> Armory
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3152743904

Its literally just the reactor and the grav drive and I don't know how to fix that

Does that mean the error isn't shown until you place the drive or reactor? Adding those parts can't mess with the path from cockpit to docker and bay, it must be a bug in this case.

Is not a bug. That is the limitation of a ship parts he is using. Some ship manufacture ship parts are more forgiving. He could just put the landing bay on the bottom of a cockpit the most basic stuff. What's good w/ Taiyo landing bay the aft side can be connected to a hab.

If he wants that kind of design he could get Hope Bridge and Shroud Landing bay. Hope Bridge allow you to put landing bay anywhere.

Much appreciated. I didn't realize it was a limitation in piece design. That is frustrating though cause i was hoping to make a luxury ship with Taiyo parts cause they seemed the most "elite" or luxurious themed

His cockpit and landing bay still basic. If he wants that kind design he could get a Bridge cockpit and Shroud landing bay.

Taiyo ship parts have limitation. It got top Hab, mid habs and bottom habs. Top habs and bottom habs can close certain parts of section.

Looking at the screenshot it seems he is using top and bottom habs only. He wants the design to make it work he could put mid habs but I just cannot guarantee it will work especially with that kind of cockpit. Taiyo ship parts cannot be mix and match easily compared to other ship parts in the game.

I'll give this a shot too. I didn't think about there being incompatibilities with the top and bottom only pieces. I'll have to look into only using top and mid

You sir are a GENIUS! I waited to add the braking engine structural piece as the very last part and everything worked!
