Bethesda clowning hard, F12 now opens the inventory, and the key cant be reassigned as its "reserved". Lmao.

If it's that much of issue you can leave the beta branch!
P.S. you can rebind the screenshot key in steam!

I take my screenshot by freezing the shot with Photo mode then using F12 for the screenshot. Works like a charm.

Seems to be a low occurrence issue. F12 still takes screen shots for me.

This is how I take my screenshots as well. I do this so my HUD isn't in the shot and so I can zoom in and out, change the angle of the shot, etc.

Most games i play hitting F12 ends up opening another screen. So what reassign Steam Key. Like that's real hard to do.

you can enter camera mode like usual from the scanner mode or by pressing ESC and selecting photo mode.

pressing space takes the picture that will be displayed on a loading screen while f12 takes the steam screenshot

Yeah it's still doing it - hence the menu open sound, it's just that being in photo mode breaks it 'cos you can't open the menu that way in photo mode.

I'm not so sure. Like many of us I like to explore and take a lot of screenshots, and after a while I started to preface each set with an in-gameplay shot, because it's badged with the planet name (i found myself wanting to go back a few times and not knowing exactly where the screenshot came from).

So i can see why could be a nuisance to some people. Personally use F11 at the moment, which solves the problem in Starfield for me.

As a global re-bind, it isn't quite as good for grabbing action shots without freezing or maybe if you have accessibility concerns (corner buttons can be slightly easier to hit), and I would have to start re-doing my Elite and X controls so F11 isn't a permanent solution for all games for me, but i can live with it for now: this game specifically doesn't need fast/easy screenshots because photo mode.
