How did Bethesda make only 4 companions and they’re all awful
Trying to figure out who to romance and the Asian lady looks like a male and the blonde lady looks 60. I guess I’ll just be a gay cowboy step dad because Barrett is dead to me

Mainly due to the buggy complicated way to get him :D
Agreed , its been a while, Hides his foot , dose ring a bell, And an Argonian slave,
Cant think for the life in me of Oblivion's followers. or maybe there must be a big hole in my head , ima go with hole.

I can think of a few, but the thing is.. Starfield does not have companions either tbh.. They are basically just Followers.. Its the same metric, but its just "in" to call them companions, but they are not fleshed out enough to be actual companions in my opinion.

Followers have never been a strong suit for Bethesda, so its not really a big deal.
I sometimes miss their sports games.. maybe they should go back to their root again, since the aRPG legacy was basically over when Oblivion was released.. Action Sandbox with light RPG elements.. well... there are just too many other and better alternatives in our modern world.

To each to their own.

I loved oblivion, one of my all time fave's . and i enjoy Starfield, but times change , we all move on and maybe without even knowing it.
Maybe its just not your game anymore?

I understand its not, I don´t hate the game, I just don´t think it offers me what I want (RPG elements) if I had more time and just wanted to shoot, grind, build and do silly stuff in the sandbox, then Starfield would most likely be worth some time tbh.. But I just rather play an actual RPG.

This have been a slowly but steady transistion. Everything up to and including Morrowind I would say was aRPG´s (Even if its somewhat watered down) the freeroam they coupled with it, was unique back then.. Obvliion dumbed everything down, Skyrim dumbed things even more down and Starfield is the full transition.

no, you would rather play a subgenre of the RPG category, starfield very much is an RPG

Sigh. It's a crap `rpg` if it can even be called one, and it doesn't do enough. This is a retrograde, a downgrade- Not a `move on`.

Wow, I'm tired of this weak-ass sauce talk. No wonder Todd laughs and has no respect in the face of its users.

Technically and factually a wrong statement. There's more than 4 companions.

Starfield does the same. The companions have multiple quests and keep up with the story as you progress through the main campaign. Oh and they also don't need to follow you. But at least they can when you're not directly involved with their personal quest lines. As I said, the scripted parts of Cyberpunk 2077 were great, but once those scripted parts are done, they are mindless drones. The extent of conversation is, "Hey, V" And they sit there. Judy stands by the window when she was supposed to be gone, depending on how you played. Can you take Panam on every mission and hear her input on the story outside of their scripted missions? Nope. Each game has their own positives and negatives. Go ahead and paint your own narrative, but it's funny how comparisons get twisted to fit whatever agenda you're going for.

So the difference is in starfail you can have the companions at all times and in cyber punk they’re only available when relevant? That’s so much better, ♥♥♥♥ I can even marry them even though I’ve known them a week whoooop!

What role do you play in Starfield besides being forced to be the chosen one on your first day mining lol

OMG that is funny! thank you for that. And can't believe you said gay cowboy on steam and didnt get banned.
He'd get banned if he called a specific user a gay cowboy.

It's a fine line.

I get it man, you have your opinion. You could at the very least look at each of them for what they are. Scripted quests for the story, after that the cast of characters in Cyberpunk are lifeless. I told you I enjoyed the game, just telling it like it is. "Hey, V" wow so breathtaking. If you didn't notice how the characters became empty and soulless after the scripted parts, you're just drawing a conclusion to say one is great and one sucks, overlooking a fair comparison. They each have pros and cons that you're ignoring for whatever reason. Good talk.
