And the Grav Drive stuck at 30 LY ?
I think you might have that backwards, isn't Class C ship which is based of the reactor the highest type you can get? So it would be Class C giving you the 150 maximum speed?
I think that 30 light year is the base hard limit but you can extend that with skill points.
B: 140
C: 130
Ahh I see the confusion. So just like reactors engines are classed except it is inverted with the class A being the best engine or at least the one with the most potential speed. It is a balance though if you get the bigger heavier engine that needs more power it can actually be a detriment. As your ship is heavier and takes more power to get the same result as a lighter engine that takes less power. It is a balancing act that can be interesting to play with to get the best combination for what you want to do.
Certainly, large, bulky and massive engines on a huge ship, also bulky and massive, can slow down the ship,
but a class of engine, when the best is C (after B > after A), this class should allow a max speed increased, especially since class C engines have more power and acceleration than B or A engines,
so with this in mind, with enough C engines the ship should reach the max speed of 150 or else it is necessary to condition speed based on the mass or hull of the ship, that would make sense! (just like mobility !)
I understand Bethesda, they said to themselves that a ship approaching an Imperial Destroyer necessarily goes slower than a fighter or a small cargo ship / light corvette...
But, really in space, in a vacuum, without friction, with powerful engines (when they are sufficient to push the mass of the ship very strongly), the maximum speed of such a ship could not equal a fighter...?
I'm not a scientist or an engineer but hey, I'm not sure the answer is that easy...
But that means you have to limit the ship's mass to 1020 max to maintain 100 maneuverability, which is what I did:

Oh, you only need 5 landing thrust up to 1000 mass and 6 past that btw
Extra Grav thrust is only to offset extra ship mass so you can still get the max of 30 even with larger ships
130 instead of 150, it's not a big deal ! ^^
That is not true. It's based on the engines and the total mass of the ship.
You can get that skill up by using the UC Flight Simulator. Several of the ship skill challenges can be done using it.
