Who is your favorite non-constellation companion? Possible spoilers?

My favs are Gideon Baker (the viewport), and Marika Boros ( viewport) They are for ship combat :) Simon from the viewport is a good ground combat companion having rifle and sniper skills. If you like roleplay and want a ships doctor I suggest Rose from Akila city. There is a real good ground combat companion named Betty Howser, however you have to rescue her from a derelict ship. She is a bounty hunter and a demolitions expert.

Sophia Grace (Madam Sauvages). Only other NPC with stealth besides Andreja (that I'm aware).

This. he has a nice gun you can borrow after NG+ and he is ALWAYS upbeat and nice no matter what you do. Even if you shoot him for running in front of your gun, he just apologizes for getting in the way. I put him in that ghetto hoodie outfit from the neon grafitti punk to hide his face, though.

I actually really like Mathis, he's completely useless skills wise, but I like is dialogue, and he doesn't mind wet work, well unless it's against the fleet.

Gotta admit Mathis has a spine; when he tried to avenge the Crimson Fleet weeks after I took them down. It took A LOT of moxy attacking me with his tiny little lvl 17 ship.
Which is a hell of a lot more I could say for that Naeva.

Three times through and I have yet to side against the fleet, but the first time I told Delgado Mathis was useless so he got booted and later tried to take me out in the same way.

Which is the only way for him surprise attack you - he has to be removed from the fleet; before the player takes the Fleet down, otherwise he dies defending the fleet.

No votes for Simeon? Hard to beat his utility in the early game. Good skillset and he starts with a Hard Target, which isn't going to drop for quite a while.
