I have found no profit in mining. I think there are a few that will fetch as much as 10 credits, but I cant name them.

I'm not sure, but I think a couple of average guns will bring more credits than a ship full of minerals, and the gun shops tend to have more credits.

Caelumite in the intro mine.
Since you hit level 2 pretty much as soon as you leave there...

thanks for the chart bud.

I do the selling resources to the mineral shop. (same as in skyrim with potions).. Basically you build an outpost, setup some basic miners and have them deposit into a container. then you place a chair next to the setup and 'wait' for X amount of time to fill the storage. ( very similar to the game Satisfactory)

currently mine 'Europium" this way. Europium has a high weight so the containers only hold 77 units. But can gather about 3k before filling my ship and getting super encumbered.
I take those 3k Europium's to a vendor, buy all their crap and sell them all my Europium. this usually buys them out of all their credits and I will need to wait more to refill. (basically the same as skyrim) you gain social points for the trades, med kits, ammo and every other type of mineral for crafting for basically free. or walk away with 15k each time.

issue with using the chart is you need a certian level of outpost crafting ability to even set up miners for the Aldumite. as an example.

this is why it needs to be available at level 1. Is it the rarity that dictates the level of outpost needed?

lookin like it's Rothicite mass to cost

Minerals are worth dookie. You want to set up a Tau Grade Rheostat factory. That is super entry level. I recommend Andropohos ( or whatever its called) in Narion. You can set up an outpost that will farm Aluminum, Berillyum, and Iron, then pop over to the planet it orbits, set up a copper farm. Have your copper farm deliver it to your Androphos outpost, built a hab, place a indy work bench, and watch the levels and credits roll in. Another added bonus is the moon has a high UT time compression 1:9 if I member right. Requires no perks.

reminds me of the statue building in fallout to get levels lol

Are you sure about this? I thought all basic extractors were available to build and you only needed ranks in the Outpost Engineering skill to build the Industrial and Commercial upgraded versions of the extractors.
I could be wrong on this, I can't remember what my Outpost Engineering skill was at when I built my first Aldumite, Indicite, Rothicite, Tasine, Veryl, and Vytinium extractors.

no not sure about it actually lol
not sure about lots o' stuff. only started playing about a week ago so its likely that I'm missing a lot of key information.

did a google search and found folks complaining about not being able to mine Ad without the skill into outposts. could be outdated or just theoretical. hard to say since have not attempted to duplicate the method.

I assume that the best stuff would be blocked or otherwise hard to locate or obtain lol

I may have had some skill in it already, but I set that outpost up so long ago I can't remember.

Caelumite. But overall ore isn't worth to gain a good profit margin. It's primarily a resource to build your empire. Make sure to get a lot of that Aluminium, Copper, and Nickel...;)
Bunker Dec 14, 2023 @ 11:44pm
cant farm calumniate automatically
DANEDANGER Dec 14, 2023 @ 11:48pm
I am not sure this stuff can be mined automatically but it is an ore and the highest paying one outside of Caelumite

https://inara.cz/starfield/resource/225/

Inara is a sort of data base, when you remove /resource/225 you get the full site:steamthumbsup:

ah the actual problem is ship distance.
in other words can't travel to the planets or systems with the Rothicite. too far to jump
lol

using the class A ship configured like i do

you can mine this with an extractor but I think the only planet thathas it is in a high level zone, 65+. I'll try to look it up.
