Beyond that not clear what you are asking. Just take everything from the stolen ship and then store it on your home ship.
so like each ship occupies one slot right but you can only ever have one ship active at a time (home ship) and all your cargo automatically moves to whatever ship is your "home ship"..
uh when you delete parts you just get money back. the text turns from red to blue. red is negative money while blue is positive. you also gotta look at the individual npc's coin bank to see if he even has enough credits.
oh and also to unlock new parts.. you need to go directly to the brand shop in main cities .. you find an NPC that allowes you to customise your ship.. but now there's like the parts that they sell as a brand added to the list. I'm not talkin about the first npc you see at the landing pad. you'll have to magically find a brand specific npc that sells only one brand.. kinda crappy way to do it.
the only way you unlock things is with perks but that only unlocks the ability to build those from the secret hidden npcs .. hard to find with no map
so you really gotta fly around clipping parts all over your ship from different brands from different cities. basically means your running to each npc for the selection of parts you want to use instead of "unlocking" it like you'd think would happen
you're right, you make ass money from selling ships at first. later on you find more valuable ships that sell for like 50k profit but at first kinda lame.
to make money you want to make an outpost and mine ore and sell it manually.
Did you read the OP? They are talking about wanting to take a ship module from a captured ship and installing it on a different ship.
even if 9999999999999999999999999999999
still goes in
can't add more tho
cargo space only matters if you wana add to it lol
you can also take stuff in and out of cargo from your inventory screen.
but not from the inventory screen.. you press h to go to your ship screen and press f for cargo inventory lol
took me like 50 hours to figure that crap out
oh and it only works if you're within a certain range of your ship
so ya you can glitch cargo size by swapping ships to bring lots of crap while flying a tiny fighter craft. or drop items in the cockpit for ultimate cheese.. but then you can't get to it with the cargo screen thing.
If the cargo transfer works properly and doesn't bug out no (which can happen so save often), you don't lose anything, but you can't add anything else to you cargo hold as its overloaded ... which is funny if you go from 10k + cargo to 1k cargo.
Went from 2k+ to around 420 or so so was worried. I havent looked yet but after I got new ship top port I rebuilt main ship and added even more storage. Around 3k now ;-) But for hassle of stealling that ship.. wasnt worth effort.
Commerce 4 will give you more resale value. Its a percentage so I make 30k profit on some ships.

That would give outposts a purpose.
that would make the player want to collect all the parts encase they'd want to use em
more like investing in the toybox parts kinda thing
also.. I can't remember what parts are where!
would help to SEE an icon for parts you COULD build but can't.
when you're at a regular platform all the good brand parts are 'hidden'
