I do agree with you that at first I went into full fallout-evil-vault-experiment-shenanigans mode and was expecting some shady stuff to happen, so I had my weapon at the ready.
Only to find that apparently she is exactly what she claims: an old lady inviting you for dinner (and all her belongings) and is very nice and amiable person.
You can run into her in other location too, I've come across her a good half dozen times now, never went along with it after the first time though. Somewhere I'm hoping recurring encounters would lead to some form of plot twist XD.
Lol your game is glitched. I've ran into grandma before. She's retired, her kids are all grown up, her husband died so she's spending the rest of her life exploring the stars. Its also hinted that she might be terminally ill, but thats just me overanalyzing her coughs.
That should get some deep thoughts going
She is now working as lead dev for Bethesda
