But seriously, the opposite of loving something isn't to hate it, but to just not care about it.
the dwindling playercount suggests the majority have given up on this game.
The charts do not support this assumption. It is a normal chart for all solo games. Nothing unique about StarField. Current player count is steady, not dropping.
I'd say many have finished the game at this point and the NG/Unity system is only going to attract a portion of those players. Just like all the players that finished FO4 in the first 2 months, some will just take a break until some DLC, patches, and mods show up.
What you just quoted, not your quote, is wrong for exactly the same reason that the opposite of (ultimate blinding light) is (low light).
No, the opposite of (ultimate blinding light) is .........(darkness).
The opposite of love is hate, the (average) of the two (might) be indifference.
PS. The opposite of Left for Dead (ORIGINAL) is redfall, (in terms of quality).
I find this game "meh" AKA (also know as) "indifferent".
I have played it over 160? hours, but I no longer have any desire to do so, and await full modding support and (crosses fingers) modders who are still interested in this game as modding material.

Mostly?
I guess not, learned something new today.
At this point is anyone still under the illusion that this game would be as successful and long lived as Skyrim, a game still played and loved by many? Do even the shills pretend this now? This game stood on the shoulders of giants and then fell off them drunk.
