How do you edit your keybinding config?

When I go into it (ControlMap_Custom.txt), it's just a bunch of weird symbols and nonsense. Is there something other than notepad that can read the symbols and edit it?

It's pretty simple and quick to do it in the game's keybindings menu. Just ignore the warning of conflicts.
