So there appears to be no way to complete the Ryujin series without getting the neuro-amp implant.
That's too bad. Because I'd really like to complete as much of the game as possible without having to indulge amoral and corrupt concepts such as drug use, implants, and body modification.

I have managed to get through the game so far without killing anyone who didn't try to kill me first. And once I got my first non-lethal disruptor, I've used it almost exclusively ever since. Combat takes a little longer, but the challenge is immensely more satisfying.

I walked away the minute the implant chick told me to lie on the table and I don't plan to go back and finish. I'll just have to live without that one story line completed. And any others that force you to do anything similar.

Dont buy "The Penthouse Suite" in Neon for 220,00 especially since all resources are worth exactly 1 credit and saving up that much wont be fun. Its a small grey room with no furniture, or windows, not even a bed.
I find the player sleep crate useful for new game plus. I often do the Ryujin missions before meeting Constellation so I don't have anywhere to sleep.

What's immersion breaking but funny is, in the middle of clearing an enemy stronghold, you can stop and take a nap in any one of the cots scattered around the place. You can sleep as long as you want and heal up completely. Who needs med packs? I didn't use a single one during any of the Freestar Ranger missions! LOL!

There's dialogue towards the end, it's been a while so I can't recall the specifics. I remember thinking at the time "aww shame". Effectively they don't want an agent keeping the technology and one of them says something like "we'll just take that implant back".
I think they may be taking the prototype you stole from the competitor?

Yeah its the prototype they take back. It was stolen by the competitor and the player steals it back.

Trans-human dread is so 1800's. While Mary Shelley was hardly the first to write on the topic, I still wonder how she would react to the prejudices and hatred in our world today.

OMG! I can't believe how willing some people are to corrupt their own bodies and call it progress. But then to give your own mind over to a corporation! Human nature: power once gained is NEVER, EVER willingly given up! The more power you give entities - corporate, government, even so-called altruistic - the more of a slave you become! It's like the pitcher plant: it may smell good and enticing, but there's a point at which you go too deep and can never escape!

Yeah tbh the situation in Starfield is probably the worst one to be shoving ♥♥♥♥ into your brain in - the implant is nearly useless, its express purpose is to enslave people, and worse yet it's helmed by a corporate board of people that don't understand how it works. You could be shoving glyphosate up your butt and it'd be about as wise. That said, there's very little in this game that's actually more "moral" than getting a medulla piercing.
Based on someone else's suggestion, I went ahead and got the implant just so I could tank the board meeting: Ryujin will acquire Infinity, and the Internal Neuralamp project is dead in the water.

To top it off, I didn't use it once on the sabotage mission...not once! I hid for a good long time once waiting for a guard to move, but move they eventually did, and I got the whole mission done without using the neuralamp once. Very proud of that, I am!

I'd offer you a cookie, but it was made with wheat, a grain cultivated and modified by humans over thousands of years and still being bred and/or engineered to this day. Maybe if were made with spelt, another human-altered grain but not quite as altered as wheat?

Maize would be right out, since even several hundred years ago, it was so modified by humans that it is almost entirely different from its wild, natural ancestor.

That's right, because human beings are no different than wheat. Makes sense. SMH!

If we've learned anything from this thread it's that penile piercings are the same thing as horticulture

:D :D :D :D :D
You don't need to use the plant in combat or dialog; there are always options.
But just as long as you got the ninja suit - 25% to stealth, there is nothing else even close
to it in game. The stealth suit very much the best mission reward.
All other rewards (any faction) can be duplicated or bested.

You can no longer do this. If you are in combat, it won't let you sleep. I tried this a few days ago and it no longer works. I think it was a bug that allowed you to sleep while in combat.

No, not in the middle of combat. But most boss fights have multiple levels, or combat "zones". Once you clear one, combat ends for the time being, and you can find a place to sleep before entering the next zone.

Have you casually browsed the Internet lately? It's... gotten weirder.

Even if it's a rather old SF topic, human enhancement (I'm not sure it's really Mary Shelley that covered first this topic, building an entity is no way enhancement of a human), there's still nothing or very few as far I know.

It's very limited, prosthesis but for people injured or handicapped, aesthetic surgery or eventually various surgery but to solve or minimize problems, and that's it.

There's still no glasses replacing eyes, no electronic ears, no mobile phones buried in head, no gamepad embedded in hands, no GPS graft in brain, and so on.

I get what you're saying, and prosthetics for missing limbs, artificial organs to replace failed ones, all that is fine. But you still have implants: BBLs, breast and pec augmentations, even calf implants, not to mention all manner of ungodly piercings...and the less said about children being transitioned the better.

It truly is end of days.
