Status effects that won't go away
I went to Venus and got some nasty status effects from sandstorms and the like - which causes bleeding and lung damage. I cleared up the damage with meds, but now the environment status effects won't go away. Even after leaving Venus and visiting a doctor and been given a clean bill of heath, the status effects *still* won't go away.
I take a look in the status part of the main inventory screen, where the icons for the damaging status effects (the yellow corrosion one, the blue one, and the bleeding one) but there's nothing listing these status effects in text!

Yet when I go to another planet and touch down - even one with a safe atmosphere, the effects still hurt me once in a while. My player is totally suited up with legendary level spacesuit clothes.

Seems like a bug to me.

Yup, if you saw a doctor and they didn't go away, it's almost certainly a bug.

You could always try inhaling a Panacea just to be sure - those normally cure every status ailment there is, so if that doesn't do it either, that pretty much confirms it.

I submitted this bug pretty early on (day 3 iirc). Sleeping thru a storm was what cleared it, which was an odd suggestion from Bethesda support... but it worked.

Don't do this on Venus, find another "extreme" planet. Locate one of the sleeping bags or cots that are still "outside" and sleep for 24 hours. You might have to do it twice.

Cots can be found in several different places and sleeping bags can be found at those random large cement platforms with various spherical containers on the them (in between OR on the edge).

This was happening to me. I would cure the affliction, and in my characters buff/debuff screen it would be gone, but it would still show the affliction symbol on my character and on my compass. I would fix it by saving the game, quitting to desktop, then starting the game again and loading that save. When I got back in game it would be gone and back to normal.

The games sometimes fails to remove weather effects when it should.
(Often this is due to quick-loading on a ship while there is a storm outside... or something.)
You need to go to where the same weather happens, then leave that area while the weather effect is active.

If you don't mind disabling achievement you can use console commands to dispel the weather effect.

Using Panacea or saving and quitting and then restarting doesn't solve this one. Neither does sleeping on your ship.

I will have to try finding an outdoor sleeping bag on Venus or some other planet I guess.
I'll report back if I manage to clear the afflictions, but since other people are experiencing it - it must certainly be a bug.

It definitely is a bug, there have been lots of threads about it.
This is a bug you can actually fix though, so it isn't as big a deal.
(even if it is quite annoying)

Any time you fast travel it re-rolls weather.
So if you are on a planet (or biome) that can have whatever weather you are stuck with, you can just fast travel between landing spot and another PoI until it is happening.
Then it solves itself.

When that happens you have to either
1) remove the effect with a console command or
2) land on a planet with that exact same effect active and hope it gets removed correctly when you leave THAT planet

To do #1 you need to find the ID of the specific effect on you with eg:
help sandstorm
using the NAME of the effect on you and then remove it with:
player.removespell X
replacing "X" with the ID you found in the first step
