Hidden or Special Ship Parts ???
Hello

Could you tell me about two strange things in ship builder please ?!

1) I bought different ships and have all needed ship/builder skills maxed out. But these ships come with some special ship parts which I cannot find in normal shipbuilder menu if I build other ships. For example the big/wide cockpits.. or those 3x2 habs.. walkable connectors between habs.. and other stuff.

2) As reward from one ( or more ) missions I got the ComSpike and another part ( distribution network, I dont know the name in english ). The ComSpike lowers 20% weapon cost while shooting and improves 25% target lock time. The other part lowers incoming EM damage 50% and raise shield regeneration 25%. Of course I was adding these parts to my home ship as I received them. To add these parts they added a new tab in shipbuilder where I could pick them: "Equipment" ( if this is right in english ).

Could you tell me why I cannot access all of these parts when I build other ships? Also the Equipment-tab from question (2) ist not there at all.

Even if I remove both mission-parts from my ship.. exit the ship builder.. and start building the same or another ship.. these parts are gone. I cant get them back ?!

All the things you are listing are available from ship building vendors, but they are only available from certain ones or only after completing certain missions, use this spreadsheet to find those places or else use a mod to unlock them from all vendors.

Just keep in mind he never fixed the incorrect engine mass formula I pointed out :S

For #1 if I understand you correctly, you need to be aware that every vendor has different items.
For #2 If I understand you correctly, it's almost the same answer as #1. Getting a ship that has certain parts doesn't "unlock" the part to make it available wherever you go. You can use that part on the ship that already had it (as long as you don't delete it) but if you want to buy more you will need to find it somewhere else in the galaxy.

I may be wrong, so someone may correct me; however... I believe you can find all Ship Parts at your own OutPost if you built/build the Large Ship Landing Pad. I've noticed on mine that everything is available; however... I'm only on my first run (of this game), and I may only be seeing parts which I've discovered at other ShipYards... I'm not sure if I've found all the brands or not.

But if I am correct... then even those Equipment parts should show up at Your Large Landing Pad.

Check the spreadsheet - yes, that landing pad has the most parts of any source, but no not ALL parts. The pieces not/available from your outposts are shown in the very last column on the "Ship Mods" tab btw

You'd need a mod to access ALL ship parts from your outposts:

Okay, thank you very much. Thats what I was looking for. Actually I was building my ship only at my own base. Should try other places now.. ^^

And I already found the infos about ComSpike.. we can get it at the Key only.. and only if we didnt finished the mission on UC side. I was pausing this mission long time ago, at the point where I have to decide UC or Crimson. Haha.. I think it's not longer possible for me to go to Key and buy these parts.. at least without finishing the mission.

Outpost has a lot but mostly basic. Won’t have large habs and specific vendor cockpits or specials.

Also some quests unlock some ship parts.

And also levels unlock ship parts.

The main differences I’ve noticed where you have to go to the main ship builder like Nova Galactic in New Homestead.

You would gain access to their special landing gear, cockpits, large habs, cross section walkways and maybe specific engines and a few cosmetic extras.

The Comspike and Conduction grid are only available during the Crimson fleet quest line.
Both items are free once they are available but if you side with SysDef those Items will be unavailable after completing the Legacy's End mission. You need to load up every ship you own with those items during the Eye of the Storm mission.
I think you can still access them if you side with the Fleet but have not played that side yet to verify that theory.
