Habitat building is good to understand
Whether it is the ship building, outpost building, and probably soon space station building I expect learning these complex system well will only make you a better player in the future. When the mods come I expect to see these systems expanded upon greatly.

Also, who knows what we might get in the DLC.

Eh... Perhaps. If there's some kind of change in the future that makes outposts relevant that would be nice. I'll bother with them then but not before. Dipped my toes in the water with outposts once and wasn't exactly blown away. Room for improvement.

I think that could be said about all there "systems" which is funny. Systems are suppose to Bethesda's specialty.

This is the first Bethesda game I've played so can't really comment on that. But yeah a lot of things feel unnecessary right now or poorly explained, maybe too convoluted. There are definitely aspects of the game I enjoy such as surveying, but other aspects I just ignore entirely and that's unfortunate.

Eh theyve had half baked features in their games starting with FO4. Hopefully it will be expanded on but I doubt it.

A lite guide on ship building would be nice , fortunately easy to figure out.

Totally agree OP.

And let's not forget about all the great mods that will be coming out once the CK is released, many of which will be focused towards expanding on all that you mentioned and more. I can't wait.

Home decorating is the one system I've only barely dabbled in. I can put stuff in the room from the menu, just like the crew station in the outpost habitat. I can take something from inventory and place it on a table. That's about it.

Here is the outpost expert himself. I think we all need to understand the mechanics a little better before it gets even more complicated.

I'd like to see that the power managment robot gets the job of wiring up all power connections.

Anyone wonder if there will be a system to allow cargo transport to star bases if we get them official in game?

I know that X4 Foundations is a strategy game with very light RPG elements.
Starfield is a heavy RPG game with no strategy.
But I love the empire building in X4. No reason Starfield couldn't include light strategy elements.
Would it be that hard to let your outposts grow with workers over time? Let outpost managers hire transport ships?
This game is fun. I do like it. But man it's missing so many features, it feels half done. I can't help but feel the second half of the game will be sold as DLC.

I'm sure there will be once that game mechanic is activated. Then there will be mods addressing this feature as well. Win Win.

LIST and outposts should be tied together. Helping setup colonies or helping a settlement by using outposts and such could be a fun gameplay addition. Could be a faction quest related with a LIST mission board and such.

Though they need to change accessibility to building things by sone means. I suggested maybe a construction firm that you can basically donate your resources too. They are completely gone after that but go into a infinite pool where you can build residences, outposts and such without moving it around. But the resources are not usable for anything wise after that.

Maybe each major city has the construction firm or a space station you go to where you can easily drop all the resources off and then just focus on building.

Could even tie outposts into new faction missions where you have to setup a base at sone location and then unlocks missions, battles and other odd events and equipment.

Game has a lot of potential.

Excellent idea! Rather than just hauling resources from point A to point B, becoming something more like an interplanetary construction engineer. I would enjoy trying that.

I would like to see more problems with outposts. Tower defense mechanics, repairs and maintenance and just more difficulties so they feel like an achievement. Right now I tend to forget about them.
