What is the best ship in the game?
Most gaming sites say it's the Narwhal. Do you all agree? If not, which ship? (I realize this may depend on your taste/gaming style). I am loving my Narwhal, which I re-named the Samuel Coe in honor of my late, sexually confused, but endearing friend Sam.

The best is one you build. The best free one is the Star Eagle.

Seriously, take a few hours and learn how ship building works. Play around with it. You'll never buy a ship.

the Best one is the one you get upon completion of the Main Campaign...:-)

Maybe not the best ship per say but I got one pretty close by getting the hidden NOVA parts and using the largest NOVA cockpit I highly suggest. I built something similar to the US B2 Stealth bomber but a spaceship using the Unlimited Reactor mod. That was the best ship in game for me. Highly suggest something similar. basically NOVA largest Cockpit with reactor mod. all blacked out. Probably the only thing I actually enjoyed with Starfield. If they would just open up Flying on planets and land anywhere it would make the game so much better.

Disagree about the Narwhal, although it is nice ship. (Kinda pricey though)

If all I want to do is go to the next Unity, (i.e. beat the Scorpius and Helix) then I'll commandeer an Ecliptic Claymore. It is a nice C class that doesn't need a lot of modification.

Much as I would love to see that, I don't think its gonna happen, simply because of how the game works.... Everything is a separate 'world space', even space...... It would take a REALLY creative modder to manage being able to make that transition from space to atmosphere..... I am just not going to hold my breath on that one. Maybe in a couple years.... "Open Planets"??? :D

Dragon Fire II... at least so far. It just kills everything in the area all by itself and has a pretty decent cargo load.

Yeah i heard the way they designed the game its almost impossible because of the engine limitations. But who knows maybe Starfield 2 will be open planets lol.

People keep harping on the open planet stuff as if it makes a difference to game play. It doesn't, you'll be bored stiff before you reach the limit of any cell. They made many updates to the engine.

I second the DragonFire 2 as well. Another great thing about this ship is, although massive, just remove the companionway and replace it with the infirmary and you have all the useful habs, a straight walk to your bridge and only a single ladder (down to the workbenches). And it's one sexy ship.

The DragonFire 2 is very, very similar to the Ecliptic Claymore 2. Biggest difference is the price...

Not sure how much the Claymore @ is, Dragon Fire 2 was $300K so yes it's pricey. But once you far in game it's not that much, even after I'm sitting on 1.2 million in my account.

Build your own I did a highly modified version of the Wendigo on my last playthrough, none of the vanilla ships are really that great
