Starfield

Starfield

Updates basically bricked my game?
Long story short, I ran starfield on my Legion 5I with a 13th Gen i7 13700HX, 32gb of ram with a RTX 4070 8gb. I played for a solid 59 hours with zero issues. no crashes, running at least 10 mods at high settings. But ever sense the last update released (Not the one that released yesterday.) The game just simply will not play past maybe 5 minutes, I've verified file integrity, Reinstalled the game multiple times, Reinstalled windows, then reinstalled starfield again, installed from game pass same issue. I have zero mods and the game is running vanilla but yet will not stop crashing. Has anyone else been having this issue ? I would refund the game but i have wayy more then two hours of game play.

Since you modded the game i am convinced it is related to these mods, Ive seen someone else in a similar problem.

You have to remove all traces of the mod including the modding program you used to instal these mods.

Once you have remove all mods there likely stil wil be some problem area,s, to fix this part you go into the Steam instal folder - C:/ - Program files (x86) - steam - steamapps - common - starfield -

Here delete everything but the DATA files, Then go back too steam and verify the game files. Steam wil download any missing and/or broken files, wait for it to complete the processes. Then try too boot up game

Ive seen people telling the OP of this solution it actually worked

Reinstalling windows lmao what a drastic solution for something so minor you must be desperate. My advice is to uninstall this game you’’ll feel liberated. 2023 was a great year for gaming, there are at least 50 games released this year that are better than Starfield for you to try out.

Flushed shader cache? Too many saves? (move some off them somewhere else and see how it goes?), disable (steam) overlay? Maybe delete everything in %documents/my games/starfield/ (EXCEPT the SAVES folder!)...

Saves where a bug is already pressent are not benefiting from a patch/update, your going to need todo a NG+ in order for the quests list to reset and then give it a go to see if anything has indeed be fixed for you

Your mods need to be updated... You will need to do this each time there is an update... :cozybethesda:

This is why is wise to wait a while before using mods... Wait for the main official patches first, otherwise this will happen to you every time...

Game was good until update. I bought the game on xbox game pass, everything was good, both xbox and pc syncing up, until 5 days ago. The xbox wouldn't sync saying I have no memory (I have 488 gb free), basically my saved games were gone. However the pc still had my games and worked.
Then the update/undoing happened and now the pc game won't even load up. Just flashes the first screen then goes to windows! For the record I've done most of the tricks, reinstalling, frame rate, etc. and no mods.
So for sag, I uninstalled everything on the pc and bought the steam copy of the game. Well guess what, it does the same thing. Just flashes the startup screen and back to windows.
So what now, I have a unmodified base game that worked fine a week ago and now all I have is a bill for useless code.
Help Bethesda, this doesn't help your numbers!

I am so glad Bethesda gets to test the beta version of their game with you guys, so we can enjoy the full stable release at a normal price in 2-3 years. Don't forget to vote for GOTY.

Tried this too , no traces of mods as ive reinstalled windows and wiped the SSD. No saves as ive deleted them and moved then to my external ssd. And turned off cloud saves so they wouldnt come back. Ran a new game and the moment i get to character creation . Crash.
