Won't Start after Update

Anybody else not able to get to the title screen after the update? Any suggestions/ fixes?

Can hear the audio too. And that's it. Waiting for nVidea or Bethewda with an update.

Have you tried verifying the integrity of your game files?
I always do this for any game after an update.

I'm having the same issue, here's all i've done but nothing works

Verify file integrity
complete uninstall
removed /my documents/my games/starfield
Complete reboot.
Reinstalled to a separate M.2 drive
Downloaded SFSE
Tried to launch from SFSE

Still stuck on this one.

it took a few minutes to "Build Shaders" at the Main Menu before I could continue after the update yesterday... only the first time after the update...:-)

Tried everything. Qfter more attempts game will start, but will not start again after shutdown. So I reïnstalled, even get back to an earlier version of Windows, made chances in BIOS. Sometimes it helps for one gamesession and than again after starting the game again it stucks

I’m having equally frustrating issues. I can’t get any thing done because it literally crashes constantly. Yesterday I would try and jump to red mile and the game would give me a black screen with some gold nebulas. Refused to go there

Same issue after update. Game launches, you can hear the audio, it is running and you can see it running in the task bar preview window; however the borderless full screen is broken and the window is not showing the renderer output. The application is in the foreground but the window is just transparent.

Verified game files
Fully exited Steam and relaunched
Fully exited Steam, and rebooted PC
Reinstalled game
manually launched from .exe as administrator
Set compatibility options for "disable fullscreen optimizations"
Disabled AutoHDR
Manually edited "DefaultGlobalGraphicsSettings.json" to set the default settings for my GPU to low
Used GeForce Experience to "Optimize" game to modify game settings

Still wont actually render the output to the borderless fullscreen window.

I got it to work once after verifying files the first time but after exiting the game, same thing started happening again and I haven't been able to get it working since.

Post your OS, display, and GPU specs if you are having this issue to see if there are any common factors

Having the same issue. After a bunch of tries I can get it to work once in a while, but then next time back to audio only, no video. Verified files multiple times, but doesn't help.

So deleting mods and verifying files didn't work for me. But the instructions in this Steam thread https://steamcommunity.com/app/1716740/discussions/0/4035850170393578939/ fixed it for me. Although my default Starfield folder was in a different location than his.

same problem here uninstalled and reinstalled game still no joy, just takes me back to the steam screen. Bethesda you are crap!!

Didn't work. But I have probably an other solution: select starfield.ini in the X\games\steam\steamapps\common\starfield folder and open it. Delete [General] and [Display] (and everything behind them). Keep [Wise] and [Archive]. Make a copy of this file first. Works for me. Oh and delete the file X:\Documents\My Games\StarfieldPrefs.ini before laumching the game for the first time after you have done all above. Started the game multiple times without problem.
