Using 4080 and win11 myself and it's simply a separate option you can turn on in display settings.
Maybe a conflict with mods?
My guess it's bethesda decided to exclude win10 users from nice features. Great job bethesda.
Other game devs have no issue adding hdr and dlss frame gen to their games working on win10, just saying
Very unlikely windows 10 has anything to do with it.
Did you try scrolling down?
Recommendation: Use Reflex all the time so long as you don't notice frame pacing issues /microstutter with it turned on. Don't use boost.
Neither setting below should be turned on if you are already hitting the max refresh rate of your monitor.
2. DLSS renders the game at a low resolution and upscales it to your native resolution using machine learning. Turning it on typically trades visual fidelity for FPS although it can actually make some aspects of a game look better than native. For example with it on the game can look less sharp and cause some artefacting, especially around objects in motion, but it may actually reduce jaggies compared to native. DLAA on the orther hand uses DLSS technology to upscale the game past your monitor's native res as a good form of anti-aliasing.
Recommendation: Use DLSS if you aren't getting enough FPS for your liking and don't want to reduce other settings. Use DLAA instead if you want a good form of anti-aliasing, have the extra power for it, and don't mind the artefacting.
3. Frame Generation creates fake frames between real frames like TVs do when you have them in "smooth motion" mode except it's better because it actually knows which way objects are moving instead of guessing and it also uses machine learning. The gist of this is it makes games look smoother than they actually are. If with frame gen off you are getting say 30 fps and with it on you are getting 60 the game will look like a 60 fps game but will only be as responsive as a 30 fps game. This mismatch is particularly bad for competitive games but frame gen is still a good feature for single player games. The downside to frame gen is it can still cause some artefacting and can increase input latency.
Recommendation: Use Frame Generation only in single player games and only if you first tweak your settings so you can hit a playable framerate with it off.
Otherwise the option is greyed out.
I'm not using frame gen myself as my FPS is just fine with regular DLSS. Getting well over 120 in most areas without needing frame gen. I did try it to check it works and it does.
Bethesda could have done better job explaining things. Hope this thread helps someone having hard time finding frame gen option
