Probably be others with similar deals if you have a preferred vendor...maybe even Steam, who knows, but they don't normally pre-release special day pricing do they? (I don't know, never really pay attention).
Is it likely that mods will fix the faults?
Some, sure. There are design issues though. You mileage may vary on if they bother you or not. If you've watched some videos, read some reviews, you probably have an idea what they are and if it's a problem for you. Over reliance on fast travel, for example.
The game is so stale you won't find mods like there was for skyrim or fallout3/4 and new vegas.
Top 20 mods on nexus are like u.i fixes lmao... I mean its just meh, even the mod selection is lame.
Best bet is (as someone mentioned), to get it on PC Gamepass for now, play a little bit and see if you like it (or if it really aggravates you).
Right now any mods we have available are literally code hacks based on older (FO4) knowledge of the engine. The official modding tool (Creation Kit) won't be released for another ~5 months give or take. Any 3rd party mod you install in the meantime has the potential of trashing a save when an official patch lands - less chance with just visual mods.
From my perspective, the game's worth about $20 right now. I'll be waiting for either Summer 2024 or Winter 2024 sales, to see how much has been fixed, when the CK lands, and what modders can do with the game after we've had time for the dust to settle. It's just not a good (or safe) bet right now.
That's worth mentioning. Regardless of how much the game is enjoyed, or not, by people - the bonus 'skins' to apply to a very small number of equipment items in the game was a total let down. I can't imagine anyone thinks otherwise.
