outpost building
I love the outpost build option but the mechanisms for doing the actual building needs some work. The fact that the only view options are right in front of you or plane view is not a very user friendly way to build at all, and at best can be very frustrating during gameplay. Also the lack of interior wall options seems a tad bit silly as the only option for say a bathroom build is to place office type walls and then just pretend that its not half a##ed. While i get the game is about exploration, but if you are going to give an option to build outposts/ home bases. then at least give us better options for building these bases in a more complete manner. The size limit is a tad ridiculous as well seeing how you are building a base on a empty planet, more space would be awesome as well for outpost builds.

I saw a video build of 1 and I stole their design for bathrooms. I use the military hallway segment on 1 wall and put in toilet, tp holder , sink and towel rack in it and the use the office wall to partially cover doorway.

I do agree that they needed better wall segments to make rooms in but maybe down the road.

Aside from fact most of it is just aesthetic is another thing, altho I do like they use the weight bench, just wish the other things like game tables actually worked.

I think a good update would be allowing the radius to expand farther depending on your Outpost Management level. Totally agree with interior snap-able walls and doors, for all hab shapes. Outposts can already do a few things that I didn't realize you could do... and it changes depending on various perk levels. Also agree with the other post about being able to manufacture items other than outpost components. Complete luxury habs for both outpost and ship modules, for instance, and ammo. Paved or concrete foundations that can be placed at a certain level before you start building the habs on top.. especially for rough terrain. Scaffolding that lets you climb up and see what's in your stacks of industrial containers... without needing a boost pack to look inside, or to allow terraced construction in mountainous regions. FENCES to keep creatures out and foundations for an industrial park. I think there is already a mod for it, but it would be nice if it were native to the game.

As beautiful as the exploration can be, the longevity of the game is going to come from construction (in my opinion). Ship building and outpost building. Outposts need to be more purposeful (currently I can only think of two purposes: a holding cell for unused crew members and acquiring resources for shipyard contracts... which have extremely poor payouts for the effort.) I do think you get experience, but building outposts just to grind experience will not keep very many people entertained. There needs to be a more substantial reason to build them... not just to build them for the sake of having one... especially if it is going to be repeatedly torn down and rebuilt.
