ModOrganizer 2 could be used as replacement for Vortex if you have issues with Vortex. And while there are some other modding communities out there, they hardly have the amount of mods you will see in Nexus.

Nexus is definitely the go-to for mods. In spite of the complaints, they do have sufficient hoops that you have to jump through in order to post a mod that it deters any but the serious modders. I switched to Vortex a few years back, and do not like it as much as the NMM for organizing mods, but it works well enough. It seems much more difficult to specify the load order... I still haven't figured out how to override the choices that it makes for me. I may try ModOrganizer2 just to see if it is more friendly. I can still download via Vortex and migrate the mods once they are downloaded, if it is a better organizer.

Well, when I suggested ModOrganizer 2, I suggested it as alternative to Vortex, you can easily setup MO2 to work with Nexus Mods even though it is not the first choice for nexus mods, considering they have Vortex.

you can but you increase your chance of getting keyloggers or other bad things hidden in the file.

Nexus you got the whole community watch that will sound the alert long before you get wind of same downloading some file operated in china.

Nmm was really good , very straightforward and you could do a lot with it , I kinda miss it

Never heard of it, never used it, but I did come across another site while looking for this mod:
https://www.starfieldmodhub.com/open-containers/

Also I've been loading all my Starfield mods manually so far

I also loved Nexus Mod Manager and honestly was let down when they started pushing Vortex onto everyone.

I tried vortex twice and found it to be rather annoying. All I wanted was a mod organizer not another bloated snoop-ware program.

So now I install and update manually, which isn't hard if you know what you are doing just a bit tedious, but I would rather deal with that than Vortex.

You mean sexus mods, the virtue signaling ESG pandering corporate ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

If you dont like ModOrganiser 2 - You could also use the community version of Nexus Mod Manager... I've used Nexus for years and never touched Vortex...
