i doubt your report will be read here on steam... its too toxic, to chaotic, too fast paced and too prone to attract trolls.
mind you... this forum is maybe a great place to collect all kind of bugs.. but topics tend to end up like a mashed potato of pure troll goo with sprinkles of honesty and valid feedback inbetween... no matter how noble the reason of your original post.
Some of those are caused by lots of ship boarding, capturing, ship selling, and such.
Vanilla, obviously.
Vanilla also only applies to whether you used mods or not.
Which means you did not answer the question of whether or not you used console commands for ship building.
I fixed most of the issues by changing and saving one part on the duplicate ship, then selling it. I also booted/reinvited Vasco just to be sure. All the problems were fixed when i started the next NG cycle.
Well if game breaking bugs start occurring when you do 'lots' of what the game is about, then we have a problem now don't we ?
I have reported all of the above 'where it matters' and I am still awaiting a reply beyond the automatic acknowledgement email.
This has been going on way too long. What's worse is it seems to be retro-actively affecting people saves that were made before the bugs appeared, so no going back to old saves to start fresh.
I have to say Bethesda's response to these bugs is absolutely appalling. It is beginning to look like even they have no idea how to fix it.
Adding to the list :
- Armillary terminal on ship is non-functional, and Armillary cannot be built.
- Razorleaf cannot be accessed after completing the Mantis lair. There is an invisible wall around the ship that prevents the player from even getting near the ship. The platform the ship is on is supposed to rise (I assume ?) but it doesnt.
If you need to understand where all the hate and bad reviews for this game are coming from, this is it. People are experiencing game-breaking bugs that Bethesda hasn't fixed or even acknowledged in weeks. Almost feels like they are burying it to avoid getting bad rep again after Fallout 76 nearly killed them.
This is an absolute sh1tshow, and I am saying this as a self-professed Bethesda fanboi.
So here I am, with a 70 bucks game I eagerly waited years for, that I cannot play because I am stuck with game-breaking bugs that prevent me from advancing the story. Could not build the Armillary, decided to do some side questing while they fixed it, only to get stuck on the Mantis issue...
In two days it will be a month since the last patch, I hope they plan to at least try to deploy a fix then...
if you got the automated response than all you can do is done... its in their system and it got a number assigned... what happens next is out of your hands.
i believe there is a public beta scheduled for this or next week... we'll know more when its out.
don't get me wrong... i was at a similar point literally 10 years ago (the game in question was X Rebirth) and i took the first step like you did... i filed a report and got an automated message.
i propably got burned back in the day as much as you were burned now... don't give up hope (unless its Ron Hope) and simply keep reporting...
If you are indeed a "self-professed Bethesda fanboi" than it even is the right thing to do.
when everyone keeps complaining and nobody reports anything... how are things supposed to get better?
P.E. I dont know what is the trigger of the bug, it happens sometimes.
No matter, here in steam serious people can read this thread and report to bethesda, someone with better english than us can get the information from here and report to bethesda to other sources. I think that it is not a bad idea to report bugs here as well, the more places where you report them the better.
Just ignore trolls
One of my ships has a permanent -20% max shields, but I've read about cases much worse.
Don't know if anyone's nailed down an exact cause, but I suspect it may have to do with crew skills being applied/removed incorrectly. Others have pointed to the Shield Systems skill (maybe it's both?).
Vasco, notably, is a 20% bonus, normally, so I think it may have been "removed" from my ship, while my ship had no bonus at the time, causing a permanent -20%.
Apparently these can stack. As I've said, I've heard of cases much worse, where people report that their shields that should be well over 2000 (thanks to skill and crew) are stuck in the hundreds. I've also heard of one case the other way, where a person had over 5000 shields.
EDIT: screenshots added

These screenshots are notably taken of the ship while it's being held by the vendor (because I sold the ship, so I can see the value without skill modifiers).
that was pretty much what my first post was supposed to express... steam is good for garthering informations but not good for the final report... someone would have to pick up that hat in the end.
that is.. if the topic stays clean enough in the meantime.
VonBarb is right, and bethesda is not doing anything about it.
Im becoming tired, and after 2 months I want a solution.
P.E. this game is a good one for me, if not i wouldnt have played the time i have played, but man this game is absolutely plenty of buggs, I feel that Bethesda dont mind and they are careless people doing things, they only want money, and their sterotype is like unproffesional ones, this is not treating fairly their fans and people who support them since years ago. They deserve to have not support anymore.
