Everyone knows starfield isn't open world.
Not only is Starfield an open world, but there are MANY OPEN WORLDS in a single game. A single area in Starfield is larger than the entire size of the Skyrim map. Obviously here you cannot concentrate all the content in a single area as in Skyrim, since it is about space and must be more dispersed to give a sense of it in the immensity of the recreated space, with numerous locations, planets, satellites, stations and facilities. But still, Starfield's craft content throughout the game is superior to that of Skyrim and Fallout 4 combined.
Yeah, there is a lot of content but 99% of it is either copy-pasted or absolute trash.
If it's regarding the amount of coverage your avatar can traverse on foot, technically NMS would be a larger open world game considering it's instance generation as well as number of planets.
On top of that, I can go back to saves from 2016(and since), to any of the hundreds of bases that I built, and they are all still there.
The game is so big, even with all the current players in NMS, you'll never likely see anyone but NPCs, outside of group events, expeditions, and at group up locations like the Anomaly.
So no, SF isn't close at all to being the biggest open world game.
It's funny that NMS is mentioned so much, when it doesn't even bother to recreate our Solar System, and its entire fake space is a caricature that has nothing to do with real Space. Not to mention its innumerable shortcomings...
