CRASH FIX!!!!!!
I have had an issue with this game crashing on me lately. After hours of trial and error and restoring my system from a big mistake, I made one change that stopped the issue.

Now, my specs are: Windows 11 Pro, Asus PRIME X670-Pn WIFI, Ryzen 9 7900X, and RTX 3060.

I have changed every setting to the bare minimum for the GPU and in Starfield, including changing the setting in the game so that it does not do the full-screen. I also customized Starfield in the NVIDIA Control Panel and set it to use my dedicated GPU.

So, the big FIX !!!!

Go to settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics

-Click "Change Default Graphic Settings"
- Turn OFF "Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling
- Turn ON Optimization for Windowed Games"

That was it. I went from game crashing every three minutes to finishing a 4-5 hour session. I had to type this up and let you all know before I went to sleep.

I hope this works for at least one of you! Good Luck!

I had a few crashes on older drivers from nvidia, now since I installed
the newest 546.1 drivers i have been able to play without CTD's.

For me, I started having lots of CTD's on 546.1

Sadly, it will likely crash again eventually. Devs should fix the game code so all render passes don't take more than 2 seconds to complete.

Starfield makes minidumps for me on crashes in the main install dir, not sure if it's due to my windows settings or if Starfield always does it. I'd be interested in what other people are seeing when opening their .dmp files with Windbg and running the
!analyze -v
command in it.

Also no luck with any combo of Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling and Optimization for Windowed Games for me. Was worth a try though.

Same for me, but if i downgrade the driver again, it doesn't fix it....

ON for Optimization for Windowed Games only affects DirectX10 and 11 games
