I managed to get stuff out of it by going to the ship screen ('H' on PC), then to ship inventory from there ('F') and then cycle to the outpost inventory and take the stuff. It then goes directly into the ship inventory. So far so good.
What's bothering me is that I have to repeat that procedure a hundred times, if I want to tranfer ressource en masse.
Many people use it the other way around which works well as long as you have enough storage container capacity, but that setup has the wrong direction of container connections for transferring from cargo container to ship.
However, the transfer container only gives access to resources that are inside the transfer container, and with many storage containers feeding into the cargo container it usually contains only a few different types of resources (or only one type) out of many that are connected to it, so it is of limited use for that purpose.
However, I've not found it practical for loading the ship. Since you can sprint even when overloaded It's actually faster to just get the material out of the bins and carry it to the ship. Additinally, in my case at least, i've needed to do that only a handful of times.
Ideed !
As the connection orientation is a mess to debug, it's not so easy to use at all.
The maximum capacity of the transfert container is a non-sense. Because we don't know the ressource is loaded and once the transfert container is full (so quick !) you can't load the ressource you want from your ship. A real bottleneck. It's barelly usless in this state for big amount of ressources.
I have 40 large containers from 18 outposts (tip : 3 outposts side by side to simulate a big outpost). The container can hold 1500 from my memory. So 40x300 is so over full that we can't predict the result when you are in your cockpit. (And yes it's a big mess to collect all ressources to only one !!). This part is so unfinished and without goal, just the pleasure to collect all (as pokemon lol). And it crashes more often because when you have 18 fret ship that landing and lift off all the time it's so limit (even the noise...).
For the time being i have pretty much given up on outposts, i'm only using the first mod, it's just a texture replacement. The others are ESM's.

(i guess it can feed an automated fabricator, in which case it could replace all resource storage containers)
