[SPOILER] Question re: Kryx Legacy completion
So I completed the quest on the Legacy and got away with the loot. I want to side with the UC, but didn't realize how this would all play out -- figured I could go get the "cash" and then go back to the Crimson Base and wipe everyone out. But I missed where I should have met with the UC before going to the Legacy. I also failed to note that each QuickSave overwrites the previous (ugh), so I thought I could jump back and play the Legacy stage over, but cannot. Is there anyway to still activate the UC side of things? I like to be a "good guy" and the thought (in character) of giving all that money to the criminals is killer.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, you cannot unless going back to previous save game or going to a new game+. However, siding with UC can give you more XP, but siding with Crimson Fleet is a lot more rewarding. Again for those have think and said majority of bad guys are 90% off, well we still have plenty bad guys to kill such as Varuun and Eclipse. Also there are ship modules can only be purchase from The Key including a captain quarter/room. XP are everywhere, no biggy. But a unique rewards, comes only once which is ties from the quest.

Yeah, I know that pragmatically choosing the bad guys is more rewarding, but I don't like being the bad guy. I played the whole thing with Legacy as an undercover agent, never killing the scum I was interviewing, etc...

So while it doesn't "Matter" in the scope of the game, I would like to be true to my character (both my own morality and the RPG "character"). I suppose I can go back to before I did all the work and do it again (blech)... or just keep the loot and not return to the Key with it.

I'm in the save game before going to Neon and cannot find the Vanguard anywhere either... Where do I meet up with it? Just before going to the Legacy at Sagan?

First rule of playing any game is to make real saves real often. Quick saves leave players in the position you are now.

Yeah, you can just not finish the quest. That's fine also. I also have not finish the quest yet. Been enjoying ship building. But to my impression, not all people in Crimson Fleet are bad guys. Just less morally straight. Anyway. I have no idea Sagan is, not finish the quest yet.

if you become crimsom by finishing Kyrx, you are crimson until you start the next game over. you can kill all the crimson on the station, but the merchants come back and one bounty hunter in the star station will always come and try to kill you and make the merchants attack you. However every time you kill a crimson you gain a bounty of 15k per kill lol. Benefits of being the bad guy having 7 sell stations in one spot and kool ship mods, vs playing the good guy and never getting a bounty on your head but can kill crimson on missions and planets.

I personally like being the bad guy, my crimson bounty is 11.5 million to pay it off, lol not gonna happen.

oh, and some npc dont like you killing unarmed crimson making it even harder to play the bad guy.

How high is your crimson bounty ??

Except many games make each QuickSave a separate save. Naturally assumed this to be the case.

None at the moment. I've rolled back to a pre-quest completion save... just trying to find the Vanguard to get on the right side and play it all over.

When your on Alpha C. you talk to the seargeant, do his quest and start the tree quest, one of the security guards will talk like you think its the start of a quest as soon as you start talking youll be arrested. You used to be able to go to mars and just punch the bounty hunter quest lady but now if you do that your on the hook for murder even if you only punch once lol

I've just started "Eye of the Storm" (again) and updated my ship. Now I'm looking all over for the Vigilance, but it's nowhere to be found. Not Phobos, Sagan, or any of the other possible locations listed around the web for people asking the same question. I did shoot one shot at a UC ship and started getting attacked. Then ran to Alpha Centauri and landed at New Atlantis where the guards were shooting at me, lol. Made it back on my ship, hailed a UC ship and surrended. Went to jail for 6 days and then nada.

I'd already been arrested and put on the Vigilance at one point early on and then sought out the CF and was admitted (hence all the stuff I've done to get to the start of Storm). But no Vigilance anywhere.

look around in systems that are one jump (straight line) away from kryx... the vigilance will be somewere in those... and it will have a big blue marker of you activate the mission to either go to the key or the vigilance.

Vigilance always on the move from system to system. So if you don't find it near Deimos, which originally started if you start with Vangard quest line. Leading the same path, without the violent path way.

Update:
From YouTube comment. @jeffreyong1159
For the crimson fleet questline you can join them in a 3rd way, if you reject the uc offer to be a mole, you will serve time but after that when u emerge from cydonia, someone will approach you to join the crimson fleet. This way you don’t have to report back to the vigilance when ypu join the crimson fleet

Thats interesting. I have a game where:

Chose to mole.

Got kicked off Sysdef after 6 "innocent" deaths

Now I'm at the Legacy ship [hard save at the start] because the Vigilance was getting entirely wallaoped by the def batteries, meaning there was nothing left for me to chew down.

Resulting in a non updating quest...

Would like some thoughts and advice on this... I've done it before where I didnt get kicked out, but chose CF [different game file], so I know how it should work, but its not doing the update thing like it should, so I don't know what to do.. I have several hard saves too, but I'm not sure that the same thing wont happen again...

Annoyed currently.

That appears to be what I did... I was not sure what was going on early in the game when I was arrested and given the option. So does this mean I'm forever stuck with the CF as my "choice"?
Izargon Nov 2, 2023 @ 2:04pm
^^ I wouldn't think so.. Remember that down the line in NG+ theres always a different way...

My first character, I never touched the CF arc,

But in my case, I'm asking about the Vigilance shield and hull acting strangely at the final battle...
