LOOKUP FAILED in dialogue box
Since the update I keep getting this bug in my dialogue boxes. Tried many things to resolve this problem including the file integrity method but nothing worked. Never had this until now. Since I use mods I guess I will have to wait for more updates from nexus. Or is there something else I could do which I'm not aware of? Would appreciate the help

Start with the dialogue interface, that's almost certainly the issue... granted, it probably isn't safe to uninstall a mod mid-playthrough just like other Beth games.

Sadly disabling EDI did nothing

Humor me and start a new character (with the mod disabled) to see if it was the mod having baked bad data into your save or if its something else. ... That way we can see whether Starfield is more forgiving of removing mods than Beth's older games were.

That didn't work either. Not sure what is going on. The only thing I can think of is some of my UI mods have yet to be updated

I just figured it out! My strings folder contained outdated string files from 1 of my mods thanks to google! Specifically Galactic Empire Era Replacement-Replace UC & FC for empire & rebels which I should have listed since it is a UI mod. This star wars mod is the only 1 I know of that does something to strings via xtranslator. All I had to do was get rid of my string folder, boot up the game and now my dialogue boxes work again :) I will let the dev know his mod needs an update. Thanks for trying to help tho!

I have the same issue after the latest update, and I don't use mods at all. Didn't have a problem before that stupid update, really pissed that they put this crap out and it screwed up my game that I have been playing for so long.

Seriously, LOOKUP FAILED, are you sure you updated the address library too?

Maybe try creating a new thread if you're running into this issue as it's very old and Steam admins don't take kindly to necro-ing posts. But if you have this issue, you likely have outdated mods somewhere as it wouldn't happen Vanilla unless you messed with your game.

Except, the guy (or gal) said that she/he doesn't use any mods.

I'm aware. It was an "maybe" scenario. Some people download mods, then uninstall and forget not knowing that mod files tend to stick around.

That's a good poitn. You're right ofcourse. hadnt thought of that.

Incidentally, I also have this problem. Wanted to start playing again, so I started a new game and I had this problem. I don't think I should delete the string folder because it's managed by mod manager 2?

I have about 75+- mods with a couple being inactive because I'm waiting for them to be updated, but even so, that's still a lot to try and figure out what the culprit is.

I also loaded an older save and it had the same problem. I even loaded a save, right before you can create your own character, so in theory that should be clean.
