To produce and manufacture.. there's many reasons to explore.. the real question is, are you that type of player..
Sometimes I come across some really beautiful scenery.
And then I take photos.
But mostly I am just trying to 100% scan a planet for XP and money. But I feel it would be much more fun with a land vehicle or a hover bike.
Some people might find that pretty boring.

that's exactly how to put it. The exploration aspect of this game is a joke. The only reason why I do visit planets is to get them surveyed, the faster the better. There is indeed nothing to explore.
