New Bethesda+ Spoilers
So I've been grinding out NG+ to max out the powers and was thinking of how bad of choice it was for increasing powers. 24 powers, 10 temple visits per power, so 240 times you have to Loading screen to Alpha Centauri > Listen to the stupid dialog about how they can't scan your ship > Loading screen into the Eye > Listen to Vlads stupid dialog while trying to spam talk, finally get the location of a temple > Loading screen to the system > Fight off any space battles (cause just running away to the surface apparently isn't an option) > Loading screen onto the surface > running simulator 2023 to the temple that is usually 500m away and on top of a mountain > Annoying fly into the sparkly light 5 times with awful 0 g control > 240 times to watch the same cutscene > Loading screen onto the surface again and fight off 1 starborn, literally 0 challenge. Just endless loading screens and throw 2 solar flares at the starborn and rinse and repeat.

In an alternate universe, Bethesda+ would have instead made 24 unique starborn with a quest line to learn the power from them and/or fight them for it if you so chose too. Depending on if you fight them or you finish their questline, they will join you or fight against you in the final ultimate battle against the Hunter/Emissary at the end when you do max everything out. If not that then let us use dragon souls - er I mean quantum essence to upgrade the shouts- I mean powers to their highest form. Completely eliminating the 240+ drawn out cut scene and loading screen galore.

Also in an alternate universe, they would have made Personal Atmosphere into something like Personal Quantum storage, where you use one of your alternate personalities inventory for storage, i.e. my inventory is 250, so rank 1 would be +250, rank 2 would be +500, 3 is +750, etc. By rank 10 it would be +2.5k on top of my 250. Then your character wouldn't be out of oxygen every dang second because you can't hardly carry anything.

Another alternative universe would fix the awful and not useful in the slightest ship that doesn't even have a bed. Each NG+ should add more utility and features to it, i.e. beds, workbenches, crew quarters, research tables, etc etc. Till the ship is outfitted more than you could get from custom building a ship. I'm sure people would still choose a custom ship though, being able to customize something is almost always better than not being able to customize it.

Finally, in terms of not being able to bring anything with you, why? The Hunter and Emissary both get to bring their weapons, why can't you say, infuse a weapon you really like with quantum essence and get to permanently keep the weapon through each NG+? ...honestly, the same with any gear, items or even ships, if you collect enough quantum essence, you should be able to trade it for the ability to keep items through each NG+. I mean, you even loose the quantum essence each NG+. Like how do you even lose quantum essence? Shouldn't it transfer with you each NG+? 0 point in even having quantum essence, its basically useless.

Well I guess in the end, the game is already out so its not like its going to be changed. Still makes me wonder who tested this game before it was released. Did no one mention how lacking it was? How repetitive visiting the same temple 240 times was? How useless the ship was? Why the other Starborns could bring their weapons with them but we lose everything every single time?

I always figured the Hunter and the Emissary just re-assembled their weapons within the first 5 minutes of rebirthing lol

If you check the workshop under the Lodge, you can actually find an Advanced Varuun Particle Rifle like the one the Emissary uses.

As for the Hunter, he probably just robbed the nearest gun shop and memorized what materials he needed to make the required weapon mods.

But other than that, I 100% agree with the repetitiveness of the temples - easily the WORST part of the gameplay cycle.
I started holding off on doing the temples until the Giant Leap quest starts, since Vladimir will hang out at the Lounge instead of the Eye as long as the "talk to your friends" side quest is active, but that method has two flaws:
-Doesn't work in universes where Constellation doesn't exist
-Can screw you out of all of your temples if you encounter a run-ending bug like the Hunter turning hostile after he joins you on your ship.

I actually found out about the weapon in the workshop last run. But it is different each run, or at least the weapon last run and the one that spawned this newest run is completely different. I guess I could see the lore side of them arriving and making or stealing their weapon. But the player doesn't really get that luxury right off the bat, since you'll have bounties to deal with or you have to heavily spec into weapon modification stuff. I still feel like using the quantum essence to preserve the weapon would have been a better route and made it more useful of a thing to gather. 10 essence for a weapon or suit, 100 essence for A class ship, 200 for B, 300 for C. 1,000 essence for an outpost. Something along those lines. I'm sure modders in the future would probably work out something like that. I hope anyways.

I also started to do the same with vlad after I found out you get 10 more temples to do per run if you go back to the lodge after the final fight. Also helps cut down some of the loading screen times. Would be nice if fast traveling to the lodge just directly put you inside the lodge, saving yourself an extra loading screen...haven't run into the hunter turning hostile bug yet, hopefully that doesn't happen lol

You know what I want? Spending quantum essence to build an outpost INSIDE THE UNITY - that way you'd have somewhere to display all of your loot and souvenirs that actually stays with you permanently.

I thought of something similar as well. Why didn't they flesh out the actual unity part of it. A Starborn headquarters of a sort. If you join with the Hunter it is a loose gathering of starborn who mainly look after themselves, or the Emissary is more of a rigid and orderly gathering, or if you chose neither, you get to build your own group. Get to add a new character to your group each NG+.
