UC native choices do show up now and then, they're just a bit of extra dialogue on rare occasion, useful once or twice but mostly just flavor. But that's true for all of the background traits. You can always just buy off the trait and demand to no longer be a citizen, but you could also just ignore it.
You can always just not take any traits at all, they really don't make a significant difference.
Its a great looking place, absolutely. But you have no reason to visit it and you can't put any services there (like a landing pad) that would make it worthwhile.
In 431 hours of play time I haven't had the bug that other players have had with the other homes and apartments where all of your furniture and items vanish, so that's a bonus I guess.
To be fair: most traits in this game aren't good.
They still land out from the home if they're above a certain size.
It doesn't affect crafting since you always have access to your ship's cargo hold when crafting no matter how far away it is.
That second point is what I really hate about it. A house with a great view that you can only see if you go outside/the balcony...
- ng+ makes setting up a home very iffy
- its not much better than UC house reward, and UC home is in a hub where you do stuff, and you don't have to pay it off (its not much, but its not 0)
- the planet for the dream home and terrain around it kinda sucks. If you could drop an outpost 50 yards outside it, it would be great. but its 300 which is just too far to place some yard coolness (like the large landing pad!).
My take on the personality traits is to role play them. Few of them are super good long term, and none of them are important long-term in NG+. Terra firma is about the only one I say is fixed for me. The other 2 ... RP.
- Dream Home does not allow any resource production.
- Dream Home (like all the homes) is not connected to ship inventory.)
- You have to build storage containers, which the containers suck.
- Dream Home (like all homes) have no furnished option.
So yeah vanilla Dream Home is not really a good perk. Which as Doombringer pointed out most perks you can get suck.
Now once the mods start rolling out this could change DRASTICALLY to being worth it.
Meanwhile 'Kid Stuff' was the gift that kept on giving. You pay the same 500/week but get tons of RP stuff with your family and a fully decorated room to sleep in. Along with lots of other gifts including a unique starship.
My second character, the one who took Dream Home, also took 'Wanted' and 'Neon Street Rat.' Both of which turned out great. So I can't complain too much about the home I never use.
